NAVI are back in Apex Legends.
Major european organisation NAVI is making its re-entrance into Apex. They are today announcing the signing of Orgless and Hungry.
The new NAVI Apex roster now consists of Matej "MaTaFe" Fekonja, Pedro "KIND4" Maldonado and Tyler "Tyler" Wood. Tyler was a recent addition to this team, following the departure of Unlucky to Alliance.
This is the second major organisation to rejoin the ALGS, following Spacestation Gaming's arrival at the start of February.
Who is the new NAVI Apex Legends roster?
This roster is a great re-entry for NAVI. Orgless and Hungry will be better known to fans as Vexed Gaming. The team adopted the OAH name after Vexed Gaming ceased operations earlier this year.
Vexed Gaming were consistently one of the best EMEA teams in the regions Pro League. They placed third and second in the two splits across ALGS Year 3. The roster did struggle when it came to international LAN competition, but with experience under the belt and a tweaked roster there is plenty of potential to improve.
Additionally, the new NAVI Apex Legends roster already sits in a great position to make the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs later this year. They are essentially qualified, perhaps barring an absolute mathematical meltdown.
By picking up this roster, NAVI are all but securing their spot at the first LAN event of the year in the ALGS calendar.
MaTafe
MaTafe is one of the most experienced Apex Legends competitors in the EMEA region. He's competed since 2019, been signed to several notable organisations and has some major tournament wins to his name.
His competitive career was interrupted with Slovenia not being eligible for the ALGS. MaTafe has been ineligible to compete in his home country, which has made competing without an organisation very difficult. He took an extended break at the start of 2021, and has publically flirted with retirement several time as a result.
However, he has found immense success since he initially teamed with Unlucky and Tyler. Their success has helped re-establish MaTafe as one of the best IGLs in Europe.
Some of his best results have been:
- 2nd - ALGS Split 2 Pro League EMEA (2023) - $15,000
- 3rd - ALGS Split 1 Pro League EMEA (2021) - $12,500
- 3rd - ALGS Split 1 Pro League EMEA (2022) - $12,000
- 1st - ALGS Autumn Circuit #2 Europe (2020) - $6,000
- 3rd - JBL Quantum Cup Europe (2022) - $5,000

KIND4
KIND4 is probably the new NAVI Apex player that will be least familiar to fans. He has risen incredibly quickly through the competitive ranks, having only started competition in spring 2022. His big break came with Element 6, where he competed in the latter half of the Split 2 Pro League (2023) and then the subsequent ALGS Split 2 Playoffs.
He was controversially dropped for his now teammate Tyler on Element 6 ahead of the ALGS Championship. The young controller player is undoubtedly one of the top EMEA talents and is well on his way to being a leading competitor in Europe.
Tyler
Tyler on the other hand is another very well known Apex competitor. While he does have a record of moving team to team perhaps too often, he has a great relationship with MaTaFe. His time on Vexed Gaming was one of his longest stints with a roster. NAVI will hope he will settle down with a prestigious organisation and familiar teammates.
His MVP award in this Sunday's ALGS Pro League games was a great sign that he can find his brilliant best alongside MaTafe and KIND4.
Tyler is a formidable roller fragger and has consistently delivered results with his many rosters. He the Group Stage kill leader in the first ever ALGS Championship with NEW Esports.
With Vexed Gaming, he was part of the team that finished 2nd and 3rd in the ALGS Year 3 Pro League splits. The Brit has also overcome his LAN struggles, with a spirited 13th place at the ALGS Championship with Element 6.
Some of his best results have been:
- 13th - ALGS Championship (2023) - $28,000
- 2nd - ALGS Split 2 Pro League EMEA (2023) - $15,000
- 3rd - ALGS Split 1 Pro League EMEA (2022) - $12,000
- 13th - ALGS Championship EMEA (2021) - $5,149
- 3rd - JBL Quantum Cup Europe (2022) - $5,000
How is the NAVI Apex roster performing?
This roster is performing incredibly well so far in the ALGS Pro League. Despite a slow debut with Tyler back on the roster, the new NAVI Apex team bounced back to win Sunday's Pro League block.
This leaves NAVI essentially qualified for LAN. Projection models show that Tyler, MaTafe and KIND4 have secured their spot at the Split 1 Playoffs. Essentially scoring any points higher than zero on Sunday will put their spot beyond even the worst possible scenarios.
Now, that allows the NAVI Apex roster to turn their attention to preparing for the Playoffs. With all new mechanics still to fully adapt too, qualifying early could give this team a significant head start heading LAN scrims and the LAN itself.
The NAVI Apex roster will make its debut this Sunday, March 10.
