Ajay Che is about to rock some new abilities.
Lifeline is getting a massive rework in Apex Legends in Season 22, according to leaks and data mining. The rework will change her passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities similarly to the Revenant Reborn changes of Season 18.
Alongside the Lifeline changes will be a new ability, unique to support legends, to throw healing items as grenades.
Apex Legends' Lifeline Rework new abilities
We’ve known that a Lifeline rework has been in the pipeline for a while now, but recent leaks suggest that changes are coming potentially in Season 22. However, these new abilities have not been confirmed by Respawn and could change at any time.
Passive - Combat Revive
According to leaks, Lifeline will have a new additional passive that allows her to glide in the air using her drone. The amount of in-air time will only be a second or two, but can be extended by selecting a new Legend Upgrade that will also reportedly release in Season 22.
Don’t worry though, Lifeline’s current passive of reviving her teammates isn’t going anywhere. This new Glide ability will be an addition to her current Passive ability.
Tactical - D.O.C Heal Drone
Lifeline’s tactical will not radically change in the rework. Her original tactical simply deployed her D.O.C. drone to heal anyone nearby for twenty seconds.
The rework will slightly change, but greatly improve, this ability by allowing the drone to follow you and your teammates. You'll also be able to command the drone to move like Newcastle’s mobile shield or attach it to a specific teammate to heal them during combat.
This small change will make a huge difference for Lifeline players, since having to sit still while healing was one of the biggest drawbacks to her immensely useful healing drone tactical.
Ultimate - Shockbot 3000
The Lifeline rework’s biggest change to the iconic medic Legend will be completely replacing her care package ultimate. Before, Lifeline could call in a care package full of survival items and shield upgrades, which guaranteed an upgrade for your squad.
Now, Lifeline will now be able to use the “Shockbot 3000”, a placeable bot that will physically force enemies away. This means that Lifeline will be able to clear a space completely of enemies for a short time, allowing her to protect and heal her teammates.
However, the Shockbot 3000 is destructible. This means that while enemies can’t get too close to it, they can shoot it to destroy it, like Crypto's drone. In-game footage shows the drone building a charge and then pushing enemies away a significant distance, like the opposite of Horizon's Black Hole Ultimate pulling enemies in.

These perk leaks seem to back up her leaked abilities, especially the new glide.
Support Legend will be able to throw healing items as grenades
Another change coming in Season 22 alongside the Lifeline rework is a new ability available to all support Legends. According to leaks, Apex Legends is adding the ability to throw healing items as grenades. Support Legends will be able to toss healing items, like syringes and batteries, at their teammates to heal them.
Details are sparse on this update, so it’s not yet clear exactly how this new ability will work.
That’s everything we know about Lifeline’s upcoming rework, “Lifeline Revived”! It’s very exciting to see older Legends receive some love after a long time, especially as Apex Legends continues to grow with increasingly powerful new Legends.
