A brand new Apex Legends launch trailer for Season 15 shows the potential of new legend Catalyst, which might include disabling Seer’s ultimate!
As Season 14 comes to a close, exciting new information and cinematics for Season 15 are being released. The launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 15, titled Eclipse, has just dropped. It shows a new map for the Apex Games, a showcase of Catalyst’s abilities, and some animosity between Seer and the new Legend.
Trailer breakdown for Apex Legends Season 15
The newest trailer for Apex Legends follows new legend, Catalyst, as she fights alongside Rampart and Bloodhound on the newest location for the Apex Games.
The trailer primarily focuses on showcasing Catalyst’s abilities, though it spends the first half showing how far Boreas’ moon and its colonies have fallen since its hopeful beginnings.
Catalyst seems to blame Seer for the condition of her beloved moon, as he brought the Apex Games there to make up for his guilt towards the people of Boreas following an interview with Lisa Stone.
No new guns or explosives were teased in this trailer, similar to last season, which most likely means this season will not come with an update to that loot pool.
Respawn devs have previously stated in AMA’s that they will only add new weapons when they feel it is healthy for the game and the current meta.

New Legend Catalyst
The new legend showcases some of her defensive abilities in this trailer. Catalyst uses a substance called Ferrofluid, which brings a unique look to her abilities for Apex Legends.
In the launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 15, Catalyst uses her powers to stop falling objects, stick enemies to the ground (most likely her tactical), and create an impressive large wall.
From the trailer it appears Catalyst's wall can:
- Block vision
- Block bullets
- Block enemy abilities (which seems to include Seer's ultimate)
- Slow down enemies who pass through it
These trailer abilities may not translate directly to what Catalyst will be capable of in game and seem different to what leaks had previously hinted towards.
However, they certainly tease an exciting Legend to add to the ever-increasing roster of characters. Official legend abilities and details will be released next Monday, October 24.
The Apex Games come to Boreas' Moon
As recent Golden Ticket teasers have hinted at, the Apex Games are heading to the moon of Boreas, Cleo. The season 15 launch trailer has shown a cinematic glimpse at the new map, with new structures and interactive environments for players to experience. (New zipline types? Air lifts?) More details on this new map will hopefully come on October 24 with the gameplay trailer.
