Apex Legends gets flip flop weapon charm

According to a post by Electronic Arts (EA), players may receive a weapon charm representing flip flops as a new Twitch Drop during the ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Pro League’s opening weekend. The name “Fillip Flop” is not a typo, either. Rather, it’s a reference to Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen’s first name since the player competed in flip flops during the recent ALGS Open.

The Fillip Flop weapon charm announcement arrived on April 1, which led to some players thinking that it’s an April Fools’ Day prank.

On X, thisisbrittni13 stated that this better not be an April Fools’ Day joke. A hilarious exchange also happened between blurrhhh and Apex Legends’ official esports account.

Will more information be revealed soon about ImperialHal’s Fillip Flop weapon charm? Or will it remain a funny nod to the player time at the ALGS Open? Only time will tell.

ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Pro League

Until then, ALGS fans can tune in to the aforementioned ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Pro League matches starting April 4. These will be online matches involving the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

Each participating region will have 30 Apex Legends teams split into three groups of 10 compete under a triple round-robin format across Split 1. The top 20 teams in each region at the end of the season based on Pro League standings will then head to the Regional Finals and duke it out under the match-point format. The winner of each Regional Final will get an automatic spot in Split 1 Playoffs.
