Horizon is finally getting a prestige skin in Apex Legends. This skin also arrives with a finisher called "Dark Matter." Read on for a closer look at Horizon's Apex Stellaris prestige skin, its release date, and more!
Horizon prestige skin release date
According to Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) and Respawn Entertainment, Horizon's Apex Stellaris prestige skin is part of the Winter Wipeout event, which launches on Jan. 6 and runs through Jan. 27. Then, after the event concludes, its items will remain available via the in-game shop until Feb. 10.
During the event, players can drop into Wildcard on Olympus and begin matches with a hoverboard. A Hoverboard can be used to double jump, wall ride, perform tricks, ram enemies, slide for sharp turns, and even deal some heavy damage.
How to unlock the Horizon Apex Stellaris prestige skin
All of the Winter Wipeout event items, including Horizon's Apex Stellaris prestige skin, are available through Crafting Metals, Apex Coins, or Winter Wipeout event packs. Each event pack includes one event item and two standard items. Players don't have to worry about Winter Wipeout duplicates, either.
"Each Winter Wipeout [event pack] contains one event item and two standard items, and there are no duplicates of event items in these packs," the official announcement stated. The announcement also described Horizon's prestige skin as her venturing into space while wielding the power of a quasar.
A closer look at the Horizon Apex Stellaris skin
Ahead of this prestige skin's release date, EA and Respawn Entertainment gave players a preview of it at the very end of the Apex Legends Winter Wipeout event trailer. In it, Horizon towers over Crypto with her new look before unleashing her out-of-this-world finisher on him. This scene starts around the 0:42 mark in the video below.
