The reason for Apex Legends Mobile closing is a somewhat ambiguous one. It doesn’t appear to have to do with the success of the game. In fact, EA and Respawn praised the popularity of the game worldwide in the announcement. Instead, EA cited Apex Legends Mobile falling ”short of [the] bar for quality, quantity, and cadence” that Respawn is known for.
“It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game," said EA in a now deleted press release.
“Although disappointing, we are proud of the game we launched, are grateful for the support of the Apex Legends community, and are confident that this is the right decision for players.”
Apex Legends Mobile introduced two mobile-exclusive legends; Fade and Rhapsody. However, so far neither character has made their way into the main title on PC and console.
