The Input lag issues started soon after the Awakening Collection event that was launched a week ago.

Apex Legends has enjoyed a decent Season 13 launch, with the exception of a few problems. Most of these problems have had to do with the game on Xbox. There were also complaints about the changes they made to Ranked Matchmaking. An exploit on the Xbox version of the game allowed players to cause a DDOS on entire servers, especially affecting cross-play mode. Lately, a lot of Xbox Series S/X owners have taken to social media to complain about input lag in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends launched the Awakening Collection Event over a week ago. The event update brought a lot of quality of life improvements to the game, but also a major problem for owners of the Xbox Series consoles. A lot of them have taken to social media to complain about input lag on their controllers after launching Apex Legends. By the looks of it, the problem is universally affecting the Xbox Series S and Series X consoles.

Players take to social media to complain about input lag

A lot of Xbox Series S/X console players have taken to social media to talk about the issue. According to them, the game is entirely unplayable in its current state on their console. Every action takes well over a second to register and execute. They're not able to pick up ground loot and fights are awkward.

Developers are "investigating" the issue

Apex Legends players have been complaining about the issue for a few days and Respawn have taken notice of the problem. The developers put out a tweet addressing the issue. They're working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. By the looks of it, players will have to wait for a solution or fix.

Plugging in the controller helps

There are reports of a band-aid solution to the problem until the developers come out with a fix. Apparently, plugging the controller into the console directly reduces input lag just about enough to make the game playable. To many players, this will still be unacceptable and input-lag is something they can't deal with.

Apex Legends input lag affecting Xbox Series consoles

A redditor discovered that the input lag caused by Apex Legends is universally affecting the Xbox series consoles. That is to say that it's prevalant even after exiting the game. As a result of this, most players are uninstalling the game from their consoles until the developers fix the problem.

We don't quite know when the developers will come out with a fix for this problem. It was definitely caused by the Awakening Collection event update. The game is unplayable in its current state for Xbox Series S and Series X owners. They'll need to come out with a fix for this soon because players are tuning out of the game.
