A huge start to the second half of the Pro League from Alliance.
Alliance made an instant bounceback from their ALGS Open heartbreak with a dominating performance in the EMEA ALGS Pro League. The side narrowly missed out on the title in New Orleans, but have once again shown why they are constantly around the top of every tournament they are involved in.
This was the first day of ALGS action in EMEA since the release of Season 24 and new Legend, Sparrow. While Sparrow wasn't a top pick, several teams did use the new Legend across the days action.
Alliance return to their brilliant best in ALGS Pro League
Alliance have been one of the most consistently strong rosters for over a year now, showing their firepower time and time again. All eyes today were on the countless ALGS rosters that made changes following the ALGS Open, making one of the regions longest serving rosters finishing in first a touch ironic.
However, they were followed by three of the teams that did make off season changes. Gaimin Gladiators, FaZe Clan and NAVI all loomed strong across the day with their new signings. GG in particular also impressed after the arrival of Fuhhnq from across the Atlantic.
Alliance made an absolutely blistering start to the days games, one of the best we have seen in Pro League history. Effect, Unlucky and Hakis racked up 33 kills in two games, finishing first and second. This total of 54 points in just two games essentially wrapped up their win before even reaching half time.

This display was a reminder of just how strong this Alliance roster is, having finished in the top three of the last three ALGS LAN competitions. Just tiny margins stand between this team and the sort of dynasty that teams like TSM and DarkZero built in the early years of the ALGS.

Sparrow enters the ALGS
Even despite the Legend Ban system, we are still seeing a loose meta evolve across the first Pro League Split. The addition of Sparrow has provided teams another recon option, meaning Crypto survived being banned across the six matches.

We've also seen the ALGS meta shift away from Legends like Newcastle. Previously a hugely popular and impactful Legend, he also survived all six games. That doesn't mean he wasn't used - but he is much less popular than the start of the split.
