ALGS Split 2 Playoffs Finals: Find out which teams and regions qualified, the format, the standings and the.. Twitch Drops.

The $1 million ALGS Split 2 Playoffs - the first offline Apex event in over 2 years - will reach its climax tomorrow as the 20 remaining teams compete in the Grand Finals.

A total of 40 teams made the trip to Sweden, but only half will participate on the final day.

ALGS Split 2 Playoffs: Which region and teams have done well?

It's been a very strong showing for North America so far, with 8 of the 10 NA representatives making it to the Grand Finals. North America also secured all the top 4 seeds ahead of the final showdown.

NA's Optic Gaming head into the final day with a 10 Point Advantage off the back of their victory in the winner's bracket. Meanwhile Cloud9 persevered even without their talismanic captain Sweetdreams (out of action after a positive COVID test) to earn their 9 Point Advantage.

Apart from NA, Australian Apex has also been on show in the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs. Reignite, Sutoraiku and Team Burger were the only Australian representatives to reach the event, and all three will be competing in the Grand Finals. Sutoraiku will start with a 6 Point Advantage, making them the highest placed non-NA team, while compatriots Reignite will have a 4 Point Advantage.

For Europe, Alliance remain their strongest hope. Alliance had a thunderous Day 1 but a bit of a wobble on Day 2, and start tomorrow's final match with just a 1 Point Advantage. However, given Alliance's ridiculous comeback to even qualify for this event, mental strength is not in short supply.

South Korea and Japan will field 5 teams in the Grand Finals, 50% of their qualified teams. South Korean FOR7 is the only APAC-N team to place in the top 10 seeding and starts with a 2 Point Advantage.

Finally, Elevate just made the cut in the Loser's Bracket Round 2 to become the only South American team out of five representatives to qualify for the Grand Finals. They only just qualified but a video captured moments afterwards by commentator Falloutt says it all.

What is the format of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs Grand Finals?

In order to win the Grand Finals, each team must collect at least 50 Points. Once any team has amassed 50 Points they are then in "match point", and any 1st place after that point will crown them champions of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs! (and $250,000 richer)

There is no limit on how many teams can be on match point, and there is no match limit for the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs Finals. This means it will keep going until a winner is crowned! With anonymous mode activated teams will be unable to identify and deliberately target Match Point teams via the kill feed, but they can of course potentially identify them via their legend composition.

Teams can earn their 50 Points through kills (worth 1 point) or from final placements:

  • 1st – 12 points
  • 2nd – 9 points
  • 3rd – 7 points
  • 4th – 5 points
  • 5th – 4 points
  • 6th-7th – 3 points
  • 8th-10th – 2 points
  • 11th-15th – 1 point
  • 16th-20th – 0 points

In addition, the 10 teams that performed well in the first two days of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs will start the Grand Finals with a points advantage:

  • Optic Gaming - 10 Points
  • Cloud 9 - 9 Points
  • Team Liquid - 8 Points
  • 100 Thieves - 7 Points
  • Sutoraiku - 6 Points
  • Luminosity Gaming - 5 Points
  • Reignite - 4 Points
  • TSM - 3 Points
  • For7 - 2 Points
  • Alliance - 1 Point

Finally, and perhaps the most exciting news of all for Apex fans watching the event on Twitch, there will be Apex Twitch Drops! The four drops for the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs Finals are the Ornamental Orbit skin for Horizon, the Glory Within charm, the Global Series Holospray and the Jeweled Night Flatline skin.
