A character’s abilities in XDefiant are determined by their Faction, so we’ve got you covered on who exactly does what.

The majority of customization in XDefiant comes through its weapons. You can select a variety of characters with differing abilities, however. These are known as XDefiant's Faction, which you may recognize from some of Ubisoft's other popular games.

Each Faction has multiple members you can choose from. Those members have passive abilities, usable abilities, and an ultra ability to turn the tide of battle. More are confirmed to be added through XDefiant's future seasons, so we've got the current, and will update you with the future ones.

Every Faction in XDefiant

XDefiant's various tests included four Factions to play. The same can be said upon launch, with the exception of a fifth unlockable or purchasable Faction. It just depends on how you want to add them to your roster.

More are coming with each consecutive season. Here are all of them currently in the game:

When a new Faction arrives in XDefiant, you can unlock them one of two ways. Either spend the XCoins, the game's premium currency, or complete a Major challenge to add them to your Faction options.

The XCoin price is 1000 for just the Faction and one character, or all characters for 2500. Otherwise, you'll need to do a bit of grinding. The challenge to unlock a Faction requires 700,000 total XP .
