GIANTX and Sentinels are the last match of the day, but we still have a long tournament to watch. On Sept. 13, the VALORANT Champions come back with NRG vs EDG, followed by TL vs DRX.

GIANTX vs Sentinels

EMEA vs NA is an ancient battle, but it never gets old. For the first time, GIANTX qualified for an international event, bringing three rookies to it. On the other side, Sentinels are very used to the international stage, with two Masters titles on their pockets: Reykjavík 2021 and Madrid 2024. This is the first time the teams are facing each other, leaving an expectation in the air.

GX vs SEN at Champions 2025: Match recaps

Check back here after the matches to catch the highlights from each game.

Map 1

Ara is finally back and in good health! Despite a strong start, GIANTX managed to reach a 6-6 tie at halftime. However, the second half proved difficult, as confident Sentinels dominated the stage. GIANTX couldn't win one single round in that second half. That didn’t stop GIANTX from resetting for the next match, where things played out very differently.

Map 2

The second map hit differently. GIANTX, clearly the underdog against a fan-favorite Sentinels, delivered an outstanding performance. They started strong, winning the pistol round, and GIANTX’s Cloud stood out as both an IGL and a player. His Sova finished the match with an impressive 23/9/5, giving Sentinels a tough time. The map ended 13-4 in GIANTX’s favor.

Map 3

The third map was a rollercoaster of emotions. When GIANTX fell behind 0-6, most people had started to lose hope for their victory. Sentinels looked dominant on their attack side, yet GIANTX’s mental resilience kept them in the game, allowing them to win four rounds in the first half. But Sentinels never saw what was coming. In the second half, something changed. Whatever speech Cloud gave clearly worked. A revitalized GIANTX fought back from a rough start, balanced the game, and ultimately won 13-9 against the favorites, securing the first victory for the EMEA region.
