Experience Points (XP) in the Ranked Mode
We have a dedicated article that explains how the TEKKEN 8 ranked system works. Please, check it out for more details.
In a nutshell, every time you win a Ranked match, the game rewards you with XP. At specific milestones (numbers of XP), you get promoted to the next rank.
- The amount of earned XP depends on various factors, such as the rank difference between opponents.
- If you lose matches, you can lose XP as well. This system works only starting from the Yellow ranks, so beginners shouldn’t worry.
Do not confuse the Ranked Matches XP with Fight Money, a currency to purchase some cosmetics. You earn it regardless of your match results.

Tekken 8 Ranks: Offline and online
There are two types of ranking systems in TEKKEN 8. Only one of them is really important.
- Offline ranks. When you play Arcade Quest matches in TEKKEN 8, your characters receive ranks. They affect nothing and rather show how dedicated you are to offline training.
- Online ranks. TEKKEN 8 players obtain them in the online Ranked Matches. The ranking affects your actual matchmaking — who you play against. Your friends and opponents can see your online ranks.
In online Ranked and Casual matchmaking, you can specify what opponents you prefer to play against: the same rank or stronger.
Tekken 8 Ranks are character-specific
TEKKEN 8 has many characters in the roster, and it’s natural not to master them all on the same level. Therefore, the game has individual ranks for each fighter.
Key Points:
- After reaching certain ranks with one character, all your other fighters will automatically be promoted a few ranks
- In online matchmaking, TEKKEN 8 considers the highest rank among all your characters. This change was introduced in T8 Season 2. Thanks to it, skilled players don’t need to climb the entire ranking ladder with each new character they start to play.
