How to get Swamp Weed & Thread in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

One of the more difficult resources to come by in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is Swamp Thread. This is a required resource in a few different advanced crafting recipes, including the Hunter Stagbow, which is a top ranged option during the mid-game. When you first see that you need Swamp Thread for the crafting recipe, though, you might not have any idea how or where to get it.

Well, to put it simply, Swamp Thread is acquired by using Swamp Weed at a specific crafting station in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Of course, Swamp Weed is an entirely different resource that you have to go out and get. So, where can you find Swamp Weed, and how do you turn it into Swamp Thread? Check out the guide below to find out.

First up, let's cover Swamp Weed, as you need it to eventually make Swamp Thread. Swamp Weed is only harvested by visiting the Bloodblight Swamp in Dragonwilds. The Bloodblight Swamp is a power level three region located to the southeast of Fractured Plains and east of the Whispering Swamp. You'll need to go through Fractured Plains to reach Bloodblight Swamp, however.

Before you venture into Bloodblight Swamp, though, you need to come prepared. The swamp has a poisonous gas in the air that slowly kills you the longer you stay in the region. Fortunately, you can read our previous guide on how to stay alive in Bloodblight Swamp.

Once you're safely in the swamp, you need to start looking at the ground for a small, green weed that grows near trees and the green poison river that runs through the entire region. Swamp Weeds can be harvested directly from the ground, but they're fairly rare and extremely difficult to see from far away, as you can see in the screenshot below.

You'll want to try and stay until you've gathered roughly five to six Swamp Weeds, as that's what you need for a majority of the crafting recipes that need it.

After you've managed to add some Swamp Weed to your inventory, return to your base and make sure you have built the Spinning Wheel. This is a starter crafting station in RuneScape: Dragonwilds and is used to make all sorts of threads, such as Coarse Thread.

At the Spinning Wheel, interact with it and insert the Swamp Weed into the top slot of the menu. This will produce one Swamp Thread for every one Swamp Weed you insert.

With your new Swamp Thread, you can head over to a Smithing Anvil to craft the Hunter Stagbow or some other weapons and gear in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
