The Rocket League esports scene has always been super exciting with mechanical players making insane plays and teamwork that makes the dream work. Throughout the years, we have seen the growth of the scene with more teams and more professional players. With the expansion of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS), the Rocket League scene is evolving into a respectable community in the esports scene.
Who is the best team in Rocket League esports?
The RLCS scene has stood for almost seven years now, with teams and players blooming over time. Rocket League teams flourished with the support of their fans while we even have the community rallying behind their favorite teams. Naturally, in a competitive scene, we have to ask: what is the best Rocket League team? We are here to present the best Rocket League teams in the RLCS 2022-23 season.
#5 FaZe Clan
FaZe Clan has always been one of the top teams since appearing in the Rocket League scene. They are always consistent, ending up in the top four at almost every event. In 2023, they started the season strong with a new iteration of the FaZe Clan roster:
- Jason "Firstkiller" Corral
- Caden "Sypical" Pellegrin
- Nick "Mist" Costello
- Raul "Roll Dizz" Diaz (Coach)
FaZe Clan is a team to look out for since it has three insanely mechanical players. Firstkiller is known for his speed, creativity, fast recoveries, and ability to read and manage situations. Combined with playmaker Sypical, who is one of North America's (NA) best midfielders, the duo is lethal. With the acquisition of Mist for the new season, FaZe Clan's defense is totally upgraded with his impeccable ability to counterattack.
The RLCS 2022-23 season has been a ride for the squad in figuring out their chemistry. They previously had a pretty good Fall Split with one regional win, one second-place placement, and being top four in the Fall Major. However, the Winter Split did not start as well, with them falling in the first round of the playoffs. FaZe Clan has the best mechanical players in the world. Once they figure out a way to play with better synergy and with their heads on all the time, they could easily be the best team in Rocket League.
#4 Oxygen Esports
The American team has decided to totally revamp their roster for the 2022-23 RLCS season and even moved from the NA region to the Europe (EU) region. This decision was quickly followed by results and exemplary achievements. Oxygen Esports' current roster is:
- Archie "Archie" Pickthall
- Joris "Joreuz" Robben
- Finlay "rise." Ferguson
- Billy "billy" Hinchliffe (Coach)
This team has everyone excited for the current season. With Joreuz's explosive gameplay and Archie taking on a more assisting role and making plays happen, the team understands their roles and what they need to do to be among the top teams. The addition of rise undoubtedly elevates the team, with his clutch factor and offensive gameplay.
Oxygen Esports started the 2022-23 RLCS season with a different roster. They won the first EU regionals against Karmine Corp, which impressed everyone. From then on, they had a harder time getting good results, and they ended up in fifth to eighth place in the Fall Major. Ole "oaly." van Doorn was then replaced by rise who arrived from Moist Esports. Oxygen Esports recently placed in the top four in the Winter Open, showing great potential for the rest of the season.
#3 Moist Esports
The new team achieved greatness in just a matter of seconds after it got established in 2022. The original roster previously won the hearts of the Rocket League community with their fresh take on the competitive scene and their passion for the game. Unfortunately, the trio prodigy has since separated, with Vatira to Karmine Corp and rise to Oxygen Esports. Moist Esports stays one of the best Rocket League teams with its current roster:
- Joe "Joyo" Young
- Maëllo "AztraL" Ernst
- Charles "juicy" Sabiani
- Noah "noah" Hinder (Coach)
Joyo, the only one from the original Moist Esports roster, is key with his playmaker ability and his versatility on the field. Juicy is now a part of the roster with big shoes to fill. His consistency in the scene will be the last puzzle needed to foster a winning environment for the team. The addition of AztraL, who is naturally taking a more offensive role with his crazy mechanical plays, makes Moist Esports as dangerous as ever.

Is Moist Esports the best team in Rocket League?
Moist Esports started with a different roster in the 20222-23 season with rise instead of Juicy. They started the season pretty consistent with third and fourth place for two regional events. Moist Esports later on showed signs of decline with rise and AztraL seeming to fight for dominance and Joyo taking a more third-man position. They then surprised everyone by getting to the grand final of the Fall Major, unfortunately falling against Gen.G Mobil1 Racing.
Despite the huge achievement, they decided to rethink their current roster, and rise went out to Oxygen Gaming. With Juicy in the new roster, they had to readjust their gameplay. They ended up with a respectable fifth to eighth place in their recent EU Winter Open.
Once they figure out their roles and have confidence in the team's ability, this team can go back to its glory days and they can surely contest the World Champion title.
#2 Karmine Corp
The French team built its reputation throughout the years, making it one of the best Rocket League teams. They recently decided to build their roster around Itachi for the current season, and it's their best decision yet. Their current roster is:
- Amine "itachi" Benayachi
- Axel "vatira." Touret
- Brice "ExoTiiK" Bigeard
- Benjamin "Eversax" Wagner (Coach)
Itachi has stayed consistent in his career with his constant improvements, and this will be the key factor for Karmine Corp going into the season with him as the captain. Furthermore, the acquisition of French superstar vatira., who is arguably the best Rocket League player in the scene, elevates ExoTiiK as their offensive force. This team has all the boxes ticked to win it all.
Going into the 2022-23 RLCS season, Karmine Corp was super dominating with one regional win and two runner-ups. They then stumbled a bit in the Fall Major as they faced their EU rival Moist Esports. That didn't stop them from going into the winter season with more motivation. Karmine Corp recently won the EU Winter Open as well. This team is hungry for a world championship, and they will work hard and play harder to get to the top.
#1 Gen.G Mobil1 Racing
The American esports organization just entered the Rocket League scene in 2022 for the RLCS 2022-23 season. Gen.G Mobil1 Racing is already a dominant force in the North American region as well as the international Rocket League scene. They picked up the Stormtroopers roster prior to the start of the season, which consisted of:
- Jack "ApparentlyJack" Benton
- Nick "Chronic" Iwanski
- Joseph "Noly" Kidd
- Braxton "Allushin" Lagarec (Coach)
This team's synergy with high-ceiling skills alongside an incredible team dynamic makes them probably the best team in Rocket League. With ApparentlyJacks' mature take on the competitive scene and Noly's decision-making and game sense, the team is unbeatable on the field. Furthermore, the addition of young prodigy Chronic, who is a hyper mechanical player, completes the trio.
The RLCS 2022-23 started with a high note for Gen.G as they smashed the Fall Split with two runner-ups, one regional win, and the Fall Split Major victory. This roster proves itself against the doubters and they are not slowing down. With the recent win at NA Winter Open, they are eyeing the trophy that every Rocket League player is dreaming about.
