How to get the Cloudtouched Mutation in Grow a Garden

Grow a Garden introduced the Cloudtouched Mutation as a new type of crop mutation during the Mega Harvest Update. Unlike previous mutations, players cannot obtain the Cloudtouched Mutation through any weather system.

If you’re interested in getting the Cloudtouched Mutation, here is a guide that will help you fill your garden with lots of Cloudtouched fruits.

There are two ways to give your crops the Cloudtouched Mutation. The first is by buying a Mutation Spray Cloudtouched from the Sky Merchant, and the second is by hatching a Hyacinth Macaw pet from an Oasis Egg.

The first method is definitely the easier and more reliable of the two, since the Sky Merchant can usually spawn in the game every four hours, which provides you access to the Cloudtouched spray. The spray costs 50 million Sheckles, though, so don’t forget to stock up on some money if you want to turn a fruit Cloudtouched.

The second method, although much harder to achieve, can potentially give your garden lots of Cloudtouched fruits through the Hyacinth Macaw’s trait, which has a 15% chance to give the mutation to a random crop every eight minutes.

The bad news is, the Oasis Egg is only available during the Summer Harvest Event, and even if somehow (like due to a new update) you manage to get one, the chances of spawning a Hyacinth Macaw are only 5%, so you’ll need lots of luck if you’re relying on this pet to get the Cloudtouched Mutation.

The Cloudtouched Mutation in Grow a Garden can multiply the value of crops by five. It can be hard to identify a Cloudtouched fruit by looks alone, as the mutation doesn’t modify a fruit’s color. Rather, Cloudtouched fruits emit balls of white smoke resembling clouds, which is more noticeable if you move your avatar around while holding an affected fruit.
