This mutation is quite easy to obtain, as long as you know the method of adding it to your crops’ current mutation stacks.
The Ancient Amber Mutation in Grow a Garden is one of the newest crop mutations introduced during the game’s Prehistoric update. Following the update’s dinosaur theme, this mutation is indeed inspired by the translucent resin where fossilized remains of prehistoric animals get preserved for millions of years.
Kudos to the creativity of Jandel and his team of developers, the Ancient Amber mutation has a quite unique obtainment method. Unlike Plasma or Choc, there’s no way you can get this mutation by just waiting for an admin abuse. It’s also not the same as Cloudtouched, which you can only acquire by buying a mutation spray.
So, for this guide, we’ll reveal the actual method of adding the Ancient Amber Mutation to your crops, including its overall effects.
Acquiring the Ancient Amber in Grow a Garden

To get the Ancient Amber mutation, you need to obtain a Mutation Spray Amber, a craftable item during the Prehistoric event.
Applying the spray to your desired crop won’t immediately give the Ancient Amber Mutation to your crops. This is because Ancient Amber is the final stage of its base form, Amber.
An Amber crop will turn into an Old Amber after 24 hours, and an Old Amber will turn into Ancient Amber after 48 hours. In other words, you’ll need three days to obtain the Ancient Amber Mutation, starting from the day you applied the spray to your crop.

Ancient Amber multiplier and other effects

Crops with the Ancient Amber Mutation will get a value multiplier of 50, which is higher than most mutations in the game. Its older versions, Amber and Old Amber, can multiply the value of the affected crops by 10 and 20, respectively.
Of all the mutations so far, Ancient Amber stands out visually, covering your crops in a thick, deep orange amber, kind of like how Frozen Mutation wraps them in ice.
