Catch all the fishes lurking inside this underground location!
Are you trying to complete the Desolate Deep Bestiary in Fisch? If you have never been to Desolate Deep before, this guide will show you how you can get there, as well as catch all the fishes in the area.
Unlike Moosewood, Roslit Bay, and Forsaken Shores, you can’t just reach Desolate Deep by traversing the ocean. It’s actually an underground cave that you can only access by diving.
Requirements for reaching Desolate Deep
Here are some items that you need to enter Desolate Deep and start catching fishes for your Desolate Deep Bestiary:
- Advanced Diving Gear/Basic Diving Gear (Advanced Diving Gear is always better if it’s your first time going to Desolate Deep)
- Submarine (optional, but you can build one by talking to Dr. Glimmerfin on Roslit Bay and acquiring all the necessary materials)
- GPS (used for finding the location of Desolate Deep’s diving spot)
Desolate Deep coordinates
Desolate Deep’s diving spot is marked by a buoy found several meters behind Sunstone Island. The coordinates are:
- X: -792.4
- Y: 141.8
- Z: -3103.1
For those who don’t know how to read coordinates, here’s our complete guide that will teach everything you need to know about coordinates and GPS in Fisch.

Upon reaching the buoy, you can buy the Advanced Diving Gear inside the floating device if you only have the Basic Diving Gear at the moment. The Advanced Diving Gear is an upgraded version of the Basic Diving Gear, and it will allow you to stay underwater for longer periods of time, especially when navigating your way to Desolate Deep.
Once you’re ready, start diving from the buoy and make your way down the giant chasm. The visibility here is terrible at night, so to see your surroundings better, open your Menu and enable Higher Brightness under the Accessibility settings.
If you dive deep enough, you’ll come across a STOP! sign. From here, swim right and avoid the Sea Mines. Keep on following the path until you see a rippled water surface. Make your way up, and you’re finally at Desolate Deep.
The island at the center of this cave contains several NPCs, like the Innkeeper and Merchant, as well as some valuable items like Crab Cage, Flippers, Glider, Conception Conch, and the Coral Geode that you can buy to obtain Truffle Worms.
