April has some exciting events on the Horizon.

April 2024 looks set to be an exciting month in Pokémon GO! We're getting a new Mega Evolution debut, the return of some more Ultra Beasts and the continuation of more Tapu's releasing with Nature's Madness.

So, what should you be looking out for in Pokémon GO this April?

April 2024 brings several exciting Pokémon GO events. We have the already announced Bagon Community Day Classic, and a standard Community Day later in the month. Hatch Day will also be a good chance to hatch a range of shinies, fingers crossed it is a good Pokémon!

However the standout event is without a doubt the Mega Heracross Raid Day. There aren't many unreleased Mega Evolutions left in Pokémon GO, and Mega Heracross will be a great addition to your lineup.

Pokémon GO April 2024 Raids

Five Star Raids

Tapu Lele
Until April 4
Kartana (Northern Hemisphere)
April 4-12
Celesteela (Southern Hemisphere)
April 4-12
Tapu Bulu
April 12-25
Registeel
April 25-May 2

April 2024 is set to be an exciting month for trainers. We get the Shiny debut of Kartana and Celesteela, as well as Tapu Bulu with the Charged Attack Natures Madness. Kartana is the number two Grass-type Pokémon in the game (ahead of Mega Venusaur and Zarude!) so is well worth the grind now that the Shiny version is also available.

Mega Raids

Mega Venusaur
Until April 4
Mega Charizard X
April 4-13
Mega Heracross
April 13-25
Mega Aggron
April 25-May 2

Nothing mind-blowing for April 2024 Mega Raids in Pokémon GO outside of the debut of Mega Heracross. We're waiting to see exactly how strong this Pokémon ends up being but with a good typing combination this could well be a strong Pokémon to have at Mega Level 3.

It will be 2x Weak to Flying-type Pokémon, so get those Mega Rayquaza's ready.

Shadow Raids

Shadow Raids in April will see Shadow Entei available, with the Shiny version released. This is a very strong Shadow Pokémon and if you can get a group together, another good use of your time in Pokémon GO this month.

Other highlights

As always, there will be a range of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours in April 2024. One is of particular interest to trainers keen to grind extra Stardust.

April 23 will see Trubbish as the featured Pokémon. Trubbish yields 750 Stardust per catch, so this is a great chance to grind some extra dust. However, the bonus for this Hour is 2x Catch XP, not Stardust. Sadly that doesn't make this hour quite as exciting as it could've been, but with a Star Piece this could still be a great hour.
