Primal Kyogre Pokémon GO Raid Guide: Counters and Candy tips

Get set for Raid Day.

Primal Kyogre is back in Pokémon GO raids during a special raid day event on March 17. Primal Kyogre will be available to battle between 1400 and 1700 local time.

There is a host of event bonuses, and a paid event ticket, making this a great opportunity to get out and grind the best Water-type Pokémon in the game.

Free event bonuses include boosted Shiny rates, five additional free raid passes and an increased Remote Raid limit. Trainers who want to pick up the $5 event ticket will get eight extra raid passes, increased Rare Candy XL chances and a boost to XP and Stardust rewards from Primal Kyogre Raids.

Depending on the amount of trainers with you will probably dictate if you need to use a Mega-Pokémon in your raid team, or if you can use a Mega Evolution that will earn you bonus Candy.

Of course, any Pokémon listed here in its Mega form will also be a good counter in its standard form. Don't forget you can only have one Pokémon Mega Evolved at once.

How many trainers do I need to beat Primal Kyogre in Pokémon GO?

The raids on Primal Kyogre Raid Day will be some of the hardest in Pokémon GO. You'll need to make sure you have a good amount of trainers with you, if you want to take Kyogre down.

You'll need at least five high level trainers to take this raid down. For lower level groups, you're looking at at least 8 or perhaps even 10 trainers if you want to be sure you can win your raid.

The World of Wonders Season in Pokémon GO does boost Friendship Damage in Raids, and Party Play also can give you a hefty damage boost too. Using these things will of course make the raid noticeably easier.
