Get ready to take on Mega Medicham in Pokémon GO with our Raid Guide.

Mega Medicham is back in Pokémon GO Mega Raids from Jan. 24 until Feb. 6. This gives Trainers a chance to get a good IV Medicham and collect the Mega Energy they need to Mega Evolve. It has been over a year since we last saw Mega Medicham in Raids, so this is a great opportunity for new players, or those that missed out.

In addition, just the opportunity to catch Medicham is a good one. This is a Pokémon that has previously been very strong in PvP. While it isn't in the Great League meta at the moment, it has the potential if there is a small tweak to any of its moves. Having one in your locker is always a good idea.

So, here is everything you need to know before taking on Mega Medicham in Pokémon GO.

Best Mega Medicham counters in Pokémon GO:

Mega Medicham has a weakness to Fairy, Flying and Ghost-type attacks in Pokémon GO. It has two resistances, to Fighting and Rock-type attacks. Here are the best counters for Mega Medicham in Pokémon GO:

Just like with Mega Gallade, the best Pokémon to take on Mega Medicham is without a doubt Mega Rayquaza. Not only is it a very powerful Flying-type Pokémon, but it also boosts candy for Psychic-types when it is at Mega Level 2 or Mega Level 3. It makes absolute sense to always use Mega Rayquaza for these Raids if you have one avaliable.

Then, standard Rayquaza (still with Dragon Ascent) will also be a very strong choice if you happen to have multiple Rayquazas capable of Mega Evolving. Besides that, Dawn Wings Necrozma which recently returned in a Necrozma Raid Day is also a great counter. If you haven't fused a Lunala yet, that is also good for these Raids.

How many trainers do I need to beat Mega Medicham in Pokémon GO?

Mega Medicham isn't a very powerful Raid Pokémon, and therefore is pretty easy to beat. Two Trainers can beat Mega Medicham in Pokémon GO as a duo. This will be easier if they have strong counters and use Party Play for the extra damage boost that provides.

Lower level Trainers should look for at least a group of Four when battling this Mega Raid. Remember the faster you beat a Mega Raid in Pokémon GO, the more Mega Energy you will get.
