Here is everything you need to know.
Zygarde Cells in Pokémon GO are still a bit elusive. These Cells are important for helping you get the powerful Zygarde to its final and most powerful forme.
Here is everything you need to know on how to get Zygade, and how to get the Zygarde Cells you need to unlock each of its formes.
How do you get Zygarde in Pokémon GO?
As it stands, Zygarde has only ever been available once in Pokémon GO. This was in Summer 2023, with the A to Z research. If you still have that Special Research story unfinished, then you can still get Zygarde.
However, if you don't have it and don't have a Zygarde already don't worry too much. It is likely that Niantic will release Zygarde again in the future.
How to get Zygarde Cells in Pokémon GO?
Zygarde Cells in Pokémon GO are gathered through the Routes feature. Routes, which are mapped pathways across the map, help Trainers explore their local area. Routes offer several bonuses, sometimes even including Rare XL Candy.
Sometimes, but not every time, a Zygarde Cell will appear towards the end of your route.
You can find nearby Routes by hitting the nearby menu on the bottom right of your screen. Scroll across to the dedicated Route tab. If there are no Routes, you could add your own to the game!
Follow your selected Route, from the start point all the way to the end point, and keep your eye out for Zygarde Cells along the way. As far as all things in Pokémon GO are considered, Zygarde Cells are pretty hard to spot.
They are small green glowing objects on the map. They can sometimes be hidden under Pokémon or behind things like Pokéstops. So, always have a good look around before you end your route.

What do Zygarde Cells do in Pokémon GO?
The purpose of Zygarde Cells in Pokémon GO is all about changing the forme of Zygarde. There are three formes you can access with Zygarde.
- 10% Forme (Default)
- 50% Forme (50 Cells needed)
- Complete Forme (200 Cells needed)
So, to get the best possible Zygarde you need a total of 250 Zygarde Cells. However, the final forme of Zygarde is VERY powerful in Pokémon GO with 184 Attack, 207 Defense, and 389 Stamina.
