Pokémon GO Egg hatching has never been easier.

The Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget sometimes has bonuses associated with it during special events. The upcoming Scorching Steps event will feature bonuses for using the Egg Hatching Widget.

During this event, taking place between June 21 and June 25, Trainers will get 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance for their first three Eggs they hatch via the widget.

That means you could hatch three 12km Eggs in just 3km, a huge bonus. This makes it a great time to add the Egg Hatching widget to your phone!

How to get the Pokémon GO Egg Hatching widget on iOS

Here is how to get the Egg Hatching widget onto your iOS device:

  • Press and hold an empty area of your home screen.
  • Press the + symbol, which is in the top left corner of the screen.
  • Search for Pokémon GO, or scroll down the list of apps.
  • Choose between the Egg Hatching widget from the three options, then press 'add widget'.

How to get the Egg Hatching widget on Android

The process is very similar to iOS. Here are the steps to get this widget on your Android device:

  • Press and hold an empty area of your home screen.
  • Select Widgets.
  • Press and hold onto the Pokémon GO Widget you want.
  • Move the Widget to wherever you'd like it to appear, and let go when it is in position.

If you're using any of these Pokémon GO widgets, it is very advisable to have Adventure Sync turned on. That will track your activity even when the game isn't open. So all those steps around the house, to the shops or to the car will count even if you aren't actively playing the game.
