Make a splash in Pokémon TCG Pocket with the best Primarina ex deck!
With just a Rare Candy, this Primarina ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket can easily score Knock Outs while healing itself.
Arguably the most competitive card in the Eevee Grove expansion, Primarina ex is capable of dealing massive damage as early as turn 2 with its Hydro Pump move. Its second move, Sparkling Aria, has 100 damage, and it can heal Primarina ex’s HP by 20.
Indeed, these moves of Primarina ex make the siren Pokémon at the top of meta right now, with various strategies coming up from hundreds of players trying to make the top deck build to use in ranked matches.
If you just recently completed the cards needed to play Primarina ex, here’s a good deck list that you can try, which can help counter those pesky Oricorio users.
Primarina ex deck (Anti-Oricorio build)
Primarina ex will just become a sitting duck against a Lightning-type Oricorio. So, to negate other decks that take advantage of Oricorio’s damage-nullifying ability for Pokémon ex, we’ll need a Silvally for this build:
- x2 Popplio (Celestial Guardians, Lunala Pack)
- x1 Brionne (Eevee Grove)
- x2 Primarina ex
- x2 Type: Null
- x2 Silvally
- x2 Professor’s Research
- x2 Irida
- x1 Gladion
- x1 Hau
- x1 Sabrina
- x2 Poké Ball
- x2 Rare Candy
Energy: Water
Playing the Primarina ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

This Primarina ex build is still centered around the Rare Candy-Primarina ex combo, but you can also rely on Silvally to take the offensive while your Primarina is powering up with the right number of Water-type Energies.
The best cards to have in your hand are a copy of Popplio (use it as a starting Active Pokémon), a Rare Candy, and a Primarina ex. If your opponent takes the game’s first turn, you’ll have the chance to use Popplio’s Sing to inflict the Asleep status on the opposing Active Pokémon. This might prevent your Popplio from receiving some early damage.
Once it’s your turn again, use your Rare Candy to instantly turn your Popplio into a Primarina ex, attach Water Energy to it, and use Hydro Pump. With two Water Energies attached, Hydro Pump can deal 80 damage, which one-hit KOs most squishy Basic and Stage 1 Pokémon.
For your next turn, Primarina ex can even hit harder with Sparkling Aria. Also, keep on spamming Sparkling Aria to heal some damage on Primarina ex while your opponent helplessly waits for their defeat.
Feel free to set up your Silvally throughout the duration of the game, as you can use it to take out any Oricorio that can completely neutralize Primarina ex.

Other notable cards in the Primarina ex deck

Apart from the usual staples like Poké Balls and Professor’s Research, this Primarina ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket mostly contains powerful Supporters that can maximize Silvally’s damage and Primarina ex’s survivability.
Irida, in particular, can turn Primarina ex into a zombie-like threat that can essentially restart its HP by healing 40 damage. Add Primarina ex’s Sparkling Aria effect, and you can easily heal 60 damage from your main mon.
Strengths
Primarina certainly doesn’t look the part, but with 180 HP, it has one of the highest HPs in the game. It can absorb 80 damage twice and still survive, and maybe even keep itself alive longer with Irida.
Slower decks like Darkrai ex and Giratina ex might have trouble before they can turn online if you’re lucky enough to have the best cards in the early game.
Weakness
With the addition of Silvally, this deck has a few weaknesses. For instance, you might have difficulties looking for your Silvally while your Primarina ex is facing an Oricorio, but this rarely happens, especially if you have Gladion with you.
Furthermore, avoid playing this deck against Lightning-type decks. But even then, you always got the chance to take the upper hand with Rare Candy.
