Score some goals and win with Lucio in this limited-time game mode!

Lucioball shenanigans have returned for the Overwatch 2 Summer Games 2025 event! Here's how the Lucioball and Lucioball Remix game modes work and how to claim victory.

How Overwatch 2 Lucioball works

There are two versions of this game mode to choose from during the Overwatch 2 Summer Games 2025 event. These include just Lucioball and Lucioball Remix. Both options require two teams of three players.

Lucioball has one ball while the Remix version has two of them. Lucioball Remix also has bonus ones that appear in the middle of the game to cause even more chaos. In both game modes, an unskippable instant replay happens whenever a player scores a goal.

Overwatch 2 Lucioball tips

While Lucioball requires five goals to win, Lucioball Remix needs 10 of them. Victory is also granted to the team that has the most points before the four-minute timer runs out. In terms of tips on how to win, make use of the support hero's abilities, passive, and Lucioball-specific ultimate.

Players can also designate a teammate as their goalie and make use of the green areas on the field. These are jump pads that launch Lucio into the air.

To move the ball, use Strike or Soundwave. Players can even move across the field faster by using Lucio's Wall Ride passive. The Turbo Boost ultimate amplifies movement speed while making Lucio jump higher as well.

Winning a match, scoring goals, or using ultimates in either Lucioball or Lucioball Remix means doubling the progress in some of this year's Overwatch 2 Summer Games event challenges. This means getting closer to extra Season 18 Battle Pass XP, sprays, player icons, plus the Tropical Lucio skin.

That's all for now. Stick around on esports.gg for more Overwatch 2 news, guides, and updates!
