Make sure you’re one of the first to own the Nintendo Switch 2.

After years of anticipation, Nintendo has finally unveiled its newest console, the Switch 2. The successor to one of the most successful consoles of all time, the Switch 2 looks to be what fans have been expecting for the past two years. Naturally, there's a long line of players who are already looking to pre-order the Switch 2 following its reveal.

Nintendo has finally given us a firm release date for the console and a price has finally been set. This means pre-orders can now officially go live, so you can see exactly how to get your hands on the console in the guide below.

Pre-order guide for the Nintendo Switch 2

Pre-orders appeared to have accidentally gone live shortly after the Switch 2 Direct event that happened on April 2. If you visit the Nintendo Store, specifically the UK Store, you can see the price for the Switch 2 as well as a pre-order date.

According to the UK Store, pre-orders for the Switch 2 are going live on April 8 (time unknown). As we can also see from the store, the Switch 2 is currently set to cost $450 for the standard version. The bundled version that includes Mario Kart World bumps up the price to $500. The Mario Kart bundle won't be available until the fall of 2025.

In terms of pre-orders, though, as soon as April 8 arrives, you want to be tuned into the Nintendo Store and all available retailers. Make sure you're signed in to whatever website you're using and have your payment information readily available. Just because you're early doesn't mean you'll get a pre-order in, however.

We'll keep this guide updated with all news about the Switch 2, its price, and when the pre-orders will go live.
