In order to unlock Shang Tsung as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 1, you must purchase the game before its global launch date of Sept. 19. The available options include the Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and Kollector's Edition. All of these include Shang Tsung as a pre-order exclusive.

While the Standard Edition costs $69.99 USD, the Premium Edition is $109.99 USD. As for the Kollector's Edition, it requires $249.99 USD.

The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 includes the base game and Shang Tsung as a playable character. Players with this version of the game can also dive into the action on Sept. 19.

Meanwhile, the Premium Edition includes everything in the previous edition plus a bunch of extra content. It also grants you early access to Mortal Kombat 1 on Sept. 14.
