This playoffs is more than just a race for the trophy.
The stage is set for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16. From eight contenders, down to only six qualified teams, battling it out for who will be crowned the champion for this season. On top of that, the top two teams will also represent the Philippines in the upcoming M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The playoff stage is set to be held in the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City, Philippines. This location is home to legendary sports events, especially the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Now, it is looking to host a legendary esports event.
That said, here is a list of all qualified teams in MPL PH Season 16 and some interesting storylines to follow.
MPL PH Season 16 Qualified Teams
After 8 weeks of regular-season action, here is a list of the qualified teams for the MPL PH Season 16 Playoffs:
- Aurora Gaming (RORA)
- ONIC Philippines (ONIC)
- Team Liquid PH (TLPH)
- Twisted Minds PH (TWIS)
- TNC Pro Team (TNC)
- Team Falcons PH (FLCN)
Aurora Gaming

Last season, RORA had a disappointing season. Despite performing well in the Regular Season with a 12-2 score, they went home way too early in the playoffs, dropping their first match against ONIC PH with a 2-3 score.
In MPL PH Season 16, they upped their stats with a 13-1 score in the Regular Season. Due to their performance last season, fans are skeptical about whether they can push through this time around. We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for the conclusion of that story.
ONIC PH

As expected, ONIC PH never disappoints with their consistent performance. They did have a rocky journey in the regular season, dropping against amateur-ridden underdogs like Twisted Minds PH and AP Bren. Despite that, they managed to score 2nd place in the Regular Season leaderboard and made it to the playoffs.
Team Liquid PH

The MSC 2025 champions are also in the race for who gets the MPL PH Season 16 trophy. But their not just gunning for a local trophy. This time, they aim to close the year with a qualification for the upcoming M7 World Championship and possibly clutch another title.
The player with the most noticeable growth is Kiel "Oheb" Soriano. He went from needing to be babysat by his former teammates back in Blacklist International to being a lane dominator with surprise picks. Will his character development continue and lead TLPH to another trophy run? We’ll find out soon enough, as they will face FLCN on the first day of the playoffs stage on Oct. 22, 2025.
Twisted Minds PH

TWIS is one of the underdogs on the list of MPL PH Season 16 playoffs contenders that has the potential to surprise fans with its performance. They managed to defeat powerhouses like FLCN and ONIC in the Regular Season. Additionally, they nearly gave TLPH a run for their money, finishing the series with a close 1-2 score.
The team’s highlight is their three rookies, Miguel "Sionnn" Alcantara, Mico "Nosia" Guevarra, and John Carlo "Caloy" Roma. Will they be able to surprise fans once again in the playoffs? It will be interesting to see if they can surprise fans once again, perhaps even making it to the grand finals.
TNC Pro team

After multiple seasons of always being in the gutter, things are looking bright for TNC in MPL PH Season 16. Last season, they made it to the playoffs too, but were quickly shut down by FLCN. This time, the team has a more compact lineup of five main members and a substitute player. They also acquired Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog, the most iconic roamer from Smart Omega, who was benched last season and is hungry for redemption. That said, will this new lineup be enough to push them further into the playoffs?
Team Falcons PH

FLCN had a rough regular season this MPL PH Season 16. They lost 8 consecutive matches before scoring their first win in Week 5. They proceeded to lose two more matches before going on a rampage, defeating other world champions ONIC and TLPH, and barely scored enough points to secure a playoff spot.
FLCN is set to kick off its playoff run against TLPH. The question now is. Can they maintain their momentum, or will their journey end in a first-round exit?
