Here’s what players can expect when LoL patch 25.17 goes live on Aug. 26.
Riot Games is once again shaking up the player experience. In the League of Legends (LoL) 25.17 patch notes, players can expect nerfs to champions like Singed, Gwen, Master Yi, and Rumble. At the same time, the patch introduces exciting changes, including Vayne and Sett in the jungle, AP Irelia, Lane Kayn, and more.
In Season 3, Act I, you can expect a new Battle Pass, exciting skins for Tryndamere, Garen, and Alisar, and a visual rework for Xin Zhao. With all of these updates, let’s explore everything you need to know this season.
Xin Zhao visual update
Xin Zhao emerges from a dark period of unusual animations and is now set to receive a complete visual overhaul, including his ability icons, splash arts, VO, VFX, SFX, skins, animations, and models. Similarly to what recently happened with Viktor, some skin prices will also be adjusted.
Xin Zhao's Commando and Imperial skins will be increased from 520 to 750 RP. However, if you don't own these skins, you'll be able to acquire them for a cheaper price before the update goes live on Aug. 29.
For the lore fans, his lore will also be updated on his Universe page. The three seasons of 2025 follow the events of Arcane directly, shortly after Swain's coup within Noxus, but before some more "recent" events, such as Sylas' rebellion in Demacia.
Doom Bots and game experience
Doom Bots are back in League of Legends! In this chaotic game mode, you and four teammates face off against Veigar and his army of ridiculously overpowered bots. Your mission: survive the onslaught for 15 minutes, then take down Veigar while defending your Nexus! Read more about the Doom Bots game mode here.
This update also tackles issues like smurfing, griefing, and intentional feeding. Additionally, several quality-of-life improvements have been added, including mini-map jungle timers and a repositioned death recap on the side of the screen, now with a convenient show/hide option.

LoL patch notes 25.17: Skins
Riot Games is now exploring the return of past Mythic Variants. To start, they will bring back Admiral Battle Bunny Miss Fortune in the current MV Sanctum format (maximum 40 pulls). Additionally, the Mythic Variant Emote will be available as an A-Tier drop.
The new season also gets a brand-new Battle Pass. This time, Arcana Lulu, Arcana Jhin, and Prestige Visions of the Fallen Jarvan IV are getting the pass skins. Check out all the Season 3 Act I Battle Pass rewards here.
New skins are also coming to the in-game store! In addition to joining the same skin line as Jarvan IV, players can look forward to Visions of the Fallen Tryndamere and Garen, along with a brand-new Elderwood Alistar skin.
