Riot Games just announced that the Doom Bots game mode will return to League of Legends. This is a co-op mode where players can duke it out against mutated bots.

League of Legend Doom Bots release date

The Doom Bots mode will make its return in League of Legends patch 25.17 on Aug. 27. In this iteration of Doom Bots, teams of five will work together to defeat Veigar and his army of bots. Players will also have to survive against these bots for 15 minutes before facing Veigar himself.

What to expect in League of Legend Doom Bots

Since Riot Games used last year's bot upgrades to create a new Doom Bots layer, the returning game mode will also feature Wukong, the Monkey King of Doom. While Wukong's Q will be able to strike multiple foes at once, his E will created more and more clones based on rank. Wukong's ultimate will result in even more clones. Therefore, wave clear will be great to have while duking it out against him. Otherwise, there will be seven Wukongs in battle.

Nami, the Tidecaller of Doom will also make an appearance in this game mode. Her bubble will be able to split in three once it lands. Meanwhile, her E will become an area of effect (AoE) move affecting more of her allies. Below is a preview of Nami's ultimate as well.

Veigar boss in League of Legend's Doom Bots mode

As noted, Doom Bots will have Veigar as the boss. He will bring bots galore into the final fight in an attempt to take down your structures. Players will also have to swiftly go into safe zones to dodge attacks.

For players who want a challenge, there will be a Trials of Doom option. This will be a rotating series of increasingly difficult challenges in Doom Bots. The first Trial boosts Doom Bots with Veigar's passive and stacks curses.

Speaking of curses, there will be a few new ones that players will be able to use to their advantage. Veigar will also throw out missions and reward those who complete them with a bit of power.

For example, players will need to out-damage Doom Bots or defeat a giant Ziggs. The reward? A Dragon Soul and gold. Failure, however, will result in improved Doom Bots or another type of punishment.
