Titanfall 2 has retained some of its popularity nearly a decade later, even without cross-platform play being an option.

Titanfall 2 was a genre-changing game upon release. As a sequel, it pushed the limits of what a first-person shooter can be. Without it, we wouldn't have the world of Apex Legends. And it still has a solid fanbase, so does that mean Titanfall 2 is cross-platform?

Unfortunately, no it isn't. We'll go into more detail for you.

The game released in Fall 2016. Titanfall 2 launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC, but never had cross-platform capabilities enabled. At this point, it likely never will, even with a sustained population of players.

As these things go, you're only able to call in a mech and battle it out with other pilots on your respective system. If you want to give it a try now, don't press your luck with the console versions. Instead, get it through Steam for PC.

The parkour FPS style of Titanfall 2 might not be cross-platform, but you can use a keyboard and mouse or a controller on PC. That's where you'll find the dedicated players who still pour countless hours into the Respawn Entertainment title.

There aren't hundreds of thousands of players on Titanfall 2 at any given time. In fact, you probably won't ever see the game reach six figures. But those that do play are the ones who will tell you just how much fun they are having.

At the time of publication, you'll find several thousand people playing Titanfall 2 on Steam. In the last 30 days, the average number is just over 4,000. The peak was just over 13,000. That's better than some games pull in these days.
