However, in classic modern RPG fashion, developer Obsidian Entertainment has allowed players to play the game slightly early as long as you're willing to fork over some extra cash. You can play The Outer Worlds 2 up to five days early, starting on Oct. 24, but only if you buy a certain edition of the game.

How does early access work in The Outer Worlds 2?
To quickly summarize things, The Outer Worlds 2 allows anyone to play early, starting on Oct. 24, as long as they purchase the Premium Edition. The Premium Edition of The Outer Worlds 2 costs $100, which is $30 extra from the price of the base game.

How does The Outer Worlds 2 early access work with Xbox Game Pass?
One major looming question you might have about The Outer Worlds 2 early access is how it works if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass.
Unfortunately, even if you subscribe to the most expensive and newly-priced Game Pass Ultimate tier, you still won't get the five days of early access. The Outer Worlds 2 is available on Game Pass for the PC Games and Ultimate tiers starting on Oct. 29. This means even if you have Game Pass Ultimate, you still have to pay $100 for the Premium Edition of The Outer Worlds 2 to play starting on Oct. 24.
So, once again, it's up to whether it's worth it to spend extra money to play the game early.
