Turn off Steam Input

According to the community, disabling Steam's input can be the solution. To do this you’ll have to: 

  • Locate your game folder and open the bin folder
  • Delete the GameGuard folder inside the bin
  • Right-click the Helldivers 2 .exe file and run as administrator
  • Add your newly downloaded Gameguard folder to your virus protection whitelist
  • Restart your PC and try again.

How to fix Helldivers 2 crashing when selecting a planet

Players have been experiencing crashing when selecting a planet in Helldivers 2. This came after an update changed the maximum size of the player limit. As of publication, they’ve capped the limit to 450,000 concurrent players to keep servers stable.
