Can you beat the Fell Omen in Elden Ring Nightreign?

The Fell Omen is the first boss in Elden Ring Nightreign, but can you actually beat it?

Elden Ring Nightreign begins with a short tutorial sequence that you can either choose to go through or skip entirely. If you choose to participate in the tutorial, you'll end it with a fight against a familiar foe: the Fell Omen. For this fight, you do have a companion who helps you during the fight. However, this doesn't mean that the Fell Omen still isn't an extremely difficult boss in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Below, we'll go over whether it's even possible to defeat the Fell Omen.

Can the Fell Omen be defeated in Elden Ring Nightreign?

A majority of players will likely not even get close to defeating the Fell Omen. Fortunately, the default Wylder class does have an extra life in Nightreign, so you technically have two chances to beat the Fell Omen. If you still can't beat the boss here, though, then you'll be sent to the Roundtable Hold in Nightreign, where your journey truly begins.

After you're sent to the Roundtable Hold, you'll converse with a character who offers some backstory to the events of the game and the goals that are set out for you. Unfortunately, all of the weapons and items you acquired during the tutorial are now gone, and you have to start over from scratch with your character.

If you're like me, however, then you likely wondered about the Fell Omen and if it was even beatable during the tutorial phase. Well, like any boss in Elden Ring, you can beat the Fell Omen during the tutorial, with or without your companion. Having the second life as the Wylder class really helps in getting past the boss, but you can also beat it just using one life if you're skilled enough.

If you do manage to defeat the Fell Omen during the tutorial, nothing particularly interesting happens. You'll still be transported to the Roundtable Hold, and the events of Nightreign unfold as they normally would if you were defeated by the boss instead. However, you will have the knowledge that you triumphed over an extremely difficult boss who was meant to defeat you.

This is similar to how the Grafted Scion tutorial boss works in the original Elden Ring. Most players won't defeat it, but if you do, you'll earn an achievement that not many other players will be able to say they have.

With the tutorial out of the way, you can now start an expedition in Elden Ring Nightreign, which can be done as a solo player if you know how to set it up that way.
