Here’s the latest on why you can’t ready up in Fortnite!
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 just arrived as of 4 a.m. ET on Dec. 1. While you can certainly still enjoy the new map, weapons, abilities, and more, it's common for Fortnite to experience issues with any new update. One problem many Fortnite players have raised is that they can't ready up after being eliminated in a match. Epic Games has addressed this issue; this article provides the latest information on the situation.
Why can't I ready up in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1?
One feature Fortnite offers is the ability to ready up after winning or losing a match. This replaces the need to return to the lobby and enter the queue as a solo or with your team. Unfortunately, Epic Games has disabled this feature due to an undisclosed issue. The Fortnite Status account posted an update on X, stating that they have disabled the 'Ready Up' button to investigate an issue.
In the meantime, you must use the 'Return To Lobby' option to re-queue. According to Fortnite's official Trello board, the Ready Up button did not appear for players, prompting the investigation. Epic Games has labeled the issue "In Development," meaning the developers are actively working on a fix.

When will the button return in Fortnite?
The Fortnite Status account commented that the 'Ready Up' button will return in a future update. Unfortunately, that could mean the next update or an update in the next month. There's no way of knowing until Epic updates the Trello board or provides another update on the Status account.
Although you can't ready up in Fortnite, you can still enjoy Chapter 6 Season 1 and all it has to offer. The new season features a new map, weapons, Battle Pass, and even Fortnite OG, which is returning soon.
