Fortnite Weapon Tier List for Chapter 4 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 features a condensed weapon selection compared to previous seasons. Epic Games introduced four new weapons to complement several returning options. The new list includes a Transformers-themed projectile launcher, a Rifle/LMG hybrid, and a boomerang. So, what are the best weapons to carry in the new season? Here is our complete Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapon tier list.

Fortnite’s iconic Heavy Sniper Rifle has appeared in every Chapter 4 season thus far, and it’s as good as you might remember. Despite Epic reducing the weapon’s damage to structures last season, it can still put an opponent down with one headshot. 

There’s no question that the Heavy Sniper Rifle is an S Tier weapon on the Chapter 4 Season 3 Tier List. It provides the ultimate reward for accuracy and should be a staple in your loadouts.

Like Chapter 4 Season 2, the Havoc Shotgun remains the go-to close-range weapon. It doles out significant damage and allows a fluid follow-up with an SMG or Tactical Pistol. The other Shotguns on this Fortnite weapon tier list pale in comparison.

The Red-Eye Assault Rifle offers what you need at a distance; a red dot sight and a controllable fire rate. While it may not fulfill your close-quarters desire, it’s effective from long range and can shred through enemies quickly. This weapon is particularly effective in Zero Build mode.

The Combat SMG has returned in Chapter 4 Season 3. This once-overpowered weapon brings slightly reduced damage, accuracy, and headshot multiplier. With all that considered, the Combat SMG is still a solid option. 

Apart from the Havoc Pump Shotgun, the Combat SMG gets the job done up close. It is worth prioritizing in your inventory this season. 

The Cybertron Cannon is one of four new weapons introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. This Transformers-themed launcher is the best of the bunch. 

Beyond the incredible theming, the Cybertron Cannon dishes 110 damage per shot, rewarding users with an instant shield crack. While the 26-second cooldown after two shots is not ideal, it is still worth carrying.

Fortnite brought back the Drum Shotgun this season, but it is different. Epic Games decreased the damage on almost every rarity, making it less appealing. 

Still, the Drum Shotgun belongs at the bottom of A tier. The weapon is still serviceable at close range but doesn’t offer much more. Its effectiveness in close quarters makes it the second-best Shotgun.

Of the Rifles available this season, the Havoc Suppressed version holds its own. It possesses a faster fire rate than the Flapjack and Red-Eye and is much better in close-range battles. 

While it certainly won’t floor you, the Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle is a mid-tier option. That puts the weapon firmly in B on the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 tier list.

Another new weapon this season is the Flapjack Rifle, which might be a misleading name. The Flapjack Rifle is closer to an LMG than a Rifle, with its slower fire rate and considerable damage. 

The Flapjack Rifle fits safely into the B tier. It is decent, but nothing you have yet to see before in Fortnite.

The Thermal DMR is the third of four new weapons introduced in Chapter 4 Season 3. Like the original DMR, this Thermal version offers a similar experience; a slow fire rate and decent damage. 

However, the Thermal sight aspect can be helpful in certain situations, especially in thick forest biomes. It can also be an asset in Zero Build, where your opponents have fewer hiding spots. 

Rounding out the list of Shotguns is the Maven Auto. In this case, we did not save the best for last. The Maven Auto Shotgun has never been a great option.

Epic has not changed this weapon much since its introduction in Chapter 4 Season 1, so it is no different this time around. Two better Shotguns are available this season, meaning the Maven grabs a spot in the B tier on the Fortnite weapon tier list.

The OG Submachine Gun carried over this season, joining the Combat in the loot pool. However, the Combat version is better in every aspect. You can carry this early in the match, but drop this and grab a Combat SMG if one is available.

The Tactical Pistol is a carryover from Chapter 4 Season 1 and 2. This weapon is an upgrade from previous Pistol iterations since it’s fully automatic, but it’s nothing incredible. 

You will be better off taking the SMG or Combat SMG over the Tactical Pistol. Those two weapons are better overall.

Fortnite added the Kinetic Boomerang as a new item in Chapter 4 Season 3. Sadly, this throwable boomerang is more of a novelty than an effective weapon. 

It deals 60 damage per hit, and you can also detonate it while in midair. Overall, we have found the Kinetic Boomerang is more fun than practical.
