A new wild Fortnite adventure has begun!
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3: Wilds is officially underway. This season sports a jungle theme, various new weapons, items, reality augments, and more. Additionally, Epic Games fulfilled the long-standing rumor of mountable raptors in Fortnite. Here is a look at the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 patch notes, covering everything new from top to bottom.
Saddle up and ride a raptor in the new Fortnite season
As referenced in the leaked loading screen, mountable raptors have finally arrived as part of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 patch notes. These dinosaurs are similar to those in Chapter 2 Season 6.
You may also stumble across raptor eggs, which you can nurture and automatically tame once it hatches.
More new features: Grind Vines, Canopies, Mud, Flower items, and Job Boards
Grind Rails are back this season with a re-theme to fit the jungle aesthetic. These are now called Grind Vines but function the same as Grind Rails.
Canopies are a new addition, allowing players to ascend to the top of the jungle and rain fire down below. You can also use the Mud mechanics for camouflage and speed.
This season welcomes Bomb Flowers, Stink Flowers, and Slurp Plants. These exist around the map and will either explode, unleash toxic gas, or heal, in that order. Hop Flowers are also present to launch you and not deal any fall damage.
Bounty Boards are back this season too, but they have been renamed to Job Boards. You can now accept one of three tasks to earn Gold Bars.

- Thermal DMR – A DMR with a thermal vision scope.
- Flapjack Rifle – An LMG with a spinning magazine. This weapon also comes in a Mythic version obtainable via Vaults.
- Kinetic Boomerang – A boomerang you can throw at enemies and have it returned to you. Recalling it early causes an explosion.
- Cybertron Cannon – A cannon that fires a powerful, explosive projectile.
- Wildwasp Jar – A jar of wasps that will swarm the enemy when thrown. Enemies can evade the wasps by jumping into water or covering themselves in mud.

New and returning Reality Augments
The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 patch notes include the return of Reality Augments. This mechanic first debuted two seasons ago. Fortnite's latest update features eight new and 12 returning Augments.
New Reality Augments in Chapter 4 Season 3
- Primal Companion – Gain thermal vision and regenerate Health while riding animals.
- Wildwasp Weaponary – Receive some Wildwasp Jars, and gain an additional one with every elimination.
- Sprint Lines – Gain a Slap effect upon using grind vines, grind rails, ziplines, or Ascenders.
- Shell Slide – Gain Shotgun shells while sliding.
- Swift Shotgun Reload – Your Shotguns will reload faster.
- Reckless Rifle Reload – Your Assault Rifles will reload significantly faster when the magazine is empty.
- Medium Ammo Acquired – Instantly gain medium ammo, then gain more when you open containers.
- Traversal Warrior (previously Rail Warrior, now works on grind vines, ziplines, and Ascenders in addition to grind rails)
