Fortnite hotfix v21.00 introduced the Grapple Glove — similar to the Spider-Man Mythic from Season 1. Here is everything you need to know.

A new mobility item has entered the chaos that is Chapter 3 Season 3. Named the Grapple Glove — this gadget is eerily similar to the Spider-Man Web Shooters from Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. As a result, you can expect the same efficient movement across the map, making evasion and pursuit much more straightforward.

Fortnite hotfix v21.00 officially marks the debut of the Grapple Glove. Here’s everything to know about this new mobility item, including where to find it and how to use it effectively.

How to use the Grapple Glove in Season 3

To use the Grapple Glove, you’ll need to select the item in your inventory. Then, like the Spider-Man item from Season 1, you must aim and shoot the Grapple Glove at a high target. According to the blog post, each successive swing grants a speed boost until the third swing.

The Grapple Glove is very similar to the Spider-Man Item that was so popular in Season 1

Furthermore, Fortnite’s new Grapple Glove enters a cooldown state if you miss a target or land on the ground. Those who slide after touching the ground can combo into another swing—making this an optimal method. Overall, the Grapple Glove is a welcome addition to the Fortnite Season 3 loot pool.

We’ll next dive into Grapple Glove locations, but first, here are some stats:

  • 30 uses per Grapple Glove item
  • The cooldown period lasts between 3 and 15 seconds

Where to find the new mobility item

Grapple Glove locations per Fortnite.GG

Fortnite’s newest mobility item spawns in specific Grapple Glove Toolboxes, as you can see above per the Fortnite.GG website. You can find 10 locations across the Chapter 3 Season 3 island at designated Grapple Stops. Also, you can eliminate an opponent and snag their Grapple Glove if given the opportunity.

The Seven Outpost VII is one of the locations for the Grapple Glove

Fortnite’s Grapple Glove will quickly become a reliable tool this season. For example, a player can safely obtain a Grapple Glove and utilize it to move around the map since it spawns with 30 uses. This fact alone makes it a better option than a Rift-To-Go or Shockwave Grenades, depending on the situation.

Moreover, it’s worth adding that the Grapple Glove is available in competitive Fortnite game modes but spawns with reduced charges. We’ll have to see how this factors into the meta this season. Until then, be sure to check out the new item in-game now.
