Here’s how to unlock and what to use on the FSS Hurricane SMG in MW2.
The FSS Hurricane is one of the fastest SMG weapons in MW2. Players can easily build it to be one of the hardest-hitting close-range weapons in the entire game.
The Hurricane is part of the M4 family tree in Modern Warfare 2. It's a unique-looking gun that has a magazine on top of its barrel.
How to unlock the FSS Hurricane in MW2
Guns in MW2 have some really convoluted and confusing ways to unlock them. The FSS Hurricane in contrast is quite simple to get your hands on. In order to get to the FSS Hurricane, all you have to do is level up the M4, which is available from the first level of Military Rank in the game.

- Reach Level 4 Military Rank to unlock the ability to create a class
- Level up the M4 to Level 16 to unlock the FTAC Recon

Building the FSS Hurricane is pretty easy. Almost any combination of attachments make the gun a very viable option to be used in multiplayer gameplay.
The attachments to use on the FSS Hurricane:
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
- Barrel: FSS Cannonade 16"
- Stock: Demo Quicksilver Stock
Most SMGs in MW2 need to add some extra bullets to their magazines. That is not the case with the FSS Hurricane. This weapon has a base ammo capacity of 50 bullets. That means that there is plenty of ammo already in the gun for you to take down five or six players before having to reload.
The rest of the attachments on the gun focus on ensuring that the aim down sights speed is as quick as possible. With SMGs, the general playstyle is to overwhelm your opponent with speed and accuracy. This weapon is perfect for it.
As with most SMG weapons, the FSS Hurricane will perform best on smaller maps. The iron sights on the gun are so clean that it even does a good job in the mid-range gunfights that may crop up. Maps such as Farm 18, El Bagra Fortress and Mercado Las Almas will be the most compatible with the Hurricane.
