This is not for the faint-hearted.
Call of Duty’s classic nuke gameplay element has changed over time. Fortunately, there is a methodology to acquiring the almighty nuke in MW3 and Warzone. Let’s figure out how to get it.
Remember, you have to be on the top of your game to get a nuke in Warzone and MW3. It won’t be easy, but you’ll be able to do it if you hold your nerve.
How to get a nuke in MW3
Getting a nuke in MW3 is no easy task. All you need is 30 kills in a row, but there is a catch.
The nuke, otherwise known as the MGB, will not count kills that aren’t from your weapons. This means any helicopter or killstreak kills won’t count towards the grand 30-kill total. You'll have to stock up on ammunition and stay alive for as long as possible.
Once you've killed all the opponents you have to, press down on the D-pad to begin the nuke. As soon as you've pressed it, the end will begin.

How to get a nuke in Warzone
In Warzone, or what others call Warzone 3, you can still get a nuke. Once you’ve unlocked the Champions Quest contact, you’ll be able to get the prestigious nuke.
The Champions Quest contract is the beginning stage of your nuke endeavors. To unlock this contract, simply play 30 games in total, or win five games in a row. The former is significantly easier than the latter. But if you can get the five in a row, congratulations — the rest should be easier.
You’ll need three elements to begin the nuke process in MW3:
- Element inside the green circle
- Element inside the nuclear safe
- Element dropped from the nuclear helicopter
The first steps involve landing on the golden WZ icon on your map. Find the small box which allows you to begin your nuke campaign. If you’ve never seen it before, it will say “Champion’s Quest, Destroy the Warzone” as you hover over it.
Once you’ve accepted the mission, you’ll have to find the Geiger counter in the allocated time. Then head to the green circle on your map, it should spawn close by.
The Geiger counter will display a number from one to 10. The closer it is to 10, the closer you are to the beryllium. Once you’ve found the chest with the beryllium inside and picked it up, your location will be revealed.
This means everyone will know what you’re up to. So, expect a few enemies. A good tactic is to leave the beryllium in an open area so other players will attempt to pick it up. This is where you can get the majority of your kills.
The next stage involves cracking open the gold safe marked on your map. Once you’ve located the safe, begin drilling and wait for it to finish. This is where you’ll acquire your next element.
Finally, you’ll have to shoot down the nuclear chopper. Once it’s shot down, the final element will drop. Once you’ve got all three elements, it’s time to arm the bomb. Fortunately, the bomb will be visible on the minimap, but that goes for everyone.
Use smoke grenades to provide cover when arming the bomb, and await the dying seconds of the nuke. Everyone will come to stop the nuke, so make sure you have the best weaponry possible.
Once you've completed each step, the countdown will begin. Then if defended well, you'll have your nuke.
