The XM4 has become one of the go-to assault rifles in Warzone.

The Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 integration has been live for enough time where players have figured out the general weapon meta. While there's still some debate as to what's the best long range option, the contenders are mostly interchangeable with one another. This includes the XM4, which has quickly become one of the most-used weapons in Warzone.

The XM4 was always going to be a popular weapon to start. It's the default assault rifle you have unlocked in Warzone and it's one of the strongest guns in Black Ops 6 multiplayer. However, the XM4 is thriving beyond its initial popularity and firmly at the top of meta, but only with the correct loadout.

By default, every player has the XM4 unlocked for them in Warzone. It's the first weapon you unlock at level one, regardless of what prestige you are. This means no matter what you do in Warzone, you'll always have the AR unlocked and ready to use.

Attachments for the best XM4 loadout in Warzone

The XM4 follows a similar attachment selection as other top long range options in Warzone, such as the GPR 91 or the XMG. Below, you can see what those attachments are:

  1. Optic: Willis 3x
  2. Muzzle: Compensator
  3. Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  4. Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  5. Magazine: Extended Mag II

If you choose to run the Gunfighter wildcard, then you'll also need to fill out the extra attachment slots, which are as follows:

  1. Rear Grip: Commando Grip
  2. Stock: Balanced Stock
  3. Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

While you've likely seen this exact same loadout on other weapons in Warzone, it's only because it works so well. All of your important stats for a long range weapon are boosted, giving you extra firepower and accuracy to take down an opponent at any range.

Your handling stat is lowered slightly with the loadout, but you shouldn't necessarily be using the XM4 at close range anyway. That's a job for a secondary weapon, such as the Jackal PDW. The only change you could make to the loadout is swapping out the optic. We've gone for the Willis 3x but if you want something with a lower or higher zoom, you can swap it out to something else you prefer.
