The XM4 is the first assault rifle you unlock in Black Ops 6 and its loadout can be extremely strong.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is here at long last and millions of players are hopping in to experience the brand new multiplayer. When you first load in and start playing matches of Black Ops 6, you'll have a single assault rifle unlocked: the XM4.

While the default weapons in Call of Duty are traditionally not as strong as later unlocks, the XM4 is an exception. Featuring terrific accuracy, damage range, and mobility, there are few ARs stronger than the XM4. That said, the weapon still needs to be equipped with the right attachments to make it truly viable in Black Ops 6.

You can see the best loadout for the XM4 below.

The XM4 is unlocked by default for all players. Once you reach level 4 in multiplayer, you gain access to your weapon loadouts. From there, you can equip the XM4 by selecting a loadout, going to the assault rifle tab, and choosing the XM4.

You need to level it up to start using attachments, though, so it might take a while to equip the best overall loadout. You could buy a store bundle that offers attachments right away, however.

Attachments for the best XM4 loadout in Black Ops 6 multiplayer

The XM4 is a fantastic all-around weapon in Black Ops 6. While other ARs might beat it in one stat, not many can match the overall balance the XM4 achieves.

This means it can be used in a majority of situations and on most maps in the game. However, if you want to ensure you're maximizing the potential of the XM4, you want to equip the right loadout for it:

  1. Optic: Kepler Microflex
  2. Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  3. Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  4. Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  5. Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip

There are little to no weaknesses in this loadout. To kick us off, we have arguably the cleanest optic in Black Ops 6 with the Kepler Microflex. You can run the XM4 without an optic, but your accuracy will greatly improve with one.

Speaking of accuracy, there are a couple of attachments to improve your recoil control and stability. The Muzzle Brake and Ranger Foregrip both improve recoil control and kick, with the latter also increasing sprinting movement speed.

To round out the loadout, we have the Reinforced Barrel for superior damage range and bullet velocity. These are highly important stats for an assault rifle, especially at longer ranges. Finally, the Ergonomic Grip is the best overall rear grip in Black Ops 6, sporting the best mobility stats possible.

Best secondary weapon for the XM4

The next class item to equip for your XM4 loadout is a secondary weapon. While there are plenty of secondaries to choose from, you're best off with a strong pistol as your backup gun.

The best pistol off the bat in Black Ops 6 is the Stryder .22. The Stryder is a semi-automatic pistol that features best-in class handling as well as a terrific fire rate. With its semi-auto nature, you do need to hit your shots with the pistol to kill enemies quickly.

Best tactical and lethal equipment for the XM4

Moving on, you can now select some pieces of equipment for your XM4 loadout. This can be personal preference depending on your playstyle, but here are our picks:

  1. Tactical Equipment - Stim Shot
  2. Lethal Equipment - Semtex

The Stim Shot is always going to be a strong tactical item, as it allows you to immediately heal back to full health with the press of a button. The Stim also recharges over time, giving you an unlimited amount if you can stay alive. As for the lethal, the Semtex is incredibly strong and allows you to blow up enemies with precision.

Best perks and wildcard for the XM4 in Black Ops 6

Finally, you'll round out your XM4 loadout with some perks and potentially a wildcard. There are also the new Combat Specialties to keep in mind with your perks, adding to the customization of your loadout.

  1. Perk 1: Ninja
  2. Perk 2: Fast Hands
  3. Perk 3: Double Time
  4. Perk 4: Ghost
  5. Wildcard: Perk Greed

This is going to be the best all-around set of perks in Black Ops 6. We're utilizing the Perk Greed wildcard to use four perks instead of three, allowing us to equip both Ninja and Ghost to stay as stealthy as possible. Then, Fast Hands and Double Time are terrific base perks that allow you to swap weapons faster and sprint for longer.

And that wraps up the entirety of the XM4 loadout in Black Ops 6. Once you're done with the loadout, make sure to check out our other guide on the best items to use Prestige Tokens on.
