The Perk Combat Specialties have been altered in Black Ops 7.
One of the multiplayer innovations in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was the introduction of Perk Combat Specialties, which allows players to gain extra benefits on their loadout for using specific perks. All perks in the game are color-coded, and using perks of the same color would reward these benefits. In Black Ops 7, this system has returned, but with a new twist that gives players the chance to mix and match differently-colored perks while still gaining benefits.
Below, we'll explain exactly what the Perk Combat Specialties are in Black Ops 7 and how to earn the different benefits from using specific perks.
All Perk Combat Specialties in Black Ops 7
In Black Ops 7, there are double the Perk Combat Specialties from Black Ops 6 (from three to six). You can now equip one of six specialties on your loadout if you use the right perks. In Black Ops 6, you can only earn a Perk Combat Specialty if you use three perks of the same color. However, Black Ops 7 now features Hybrid Perk Combat Specialties, allowing you to mix and match perks with different colors to earn one of the new benefits.
Below, you can see all of the Perk Combat Specialties, how to earn them, and their benefits:
Scout Specialty

- How to earn: Use one or two Enforcer (red) Perks in any perk slot and use one or two Recon (blue) Perks in any perk slot
- Benefit: When you get a bullet elimination, stay completely hidden from enemy minimaps for five seconds. Additional eliminations during this period reset the timer.
Tactican Specialty

- How to earn: Use one or two Enforcer (red) Perks in any perk slot and use one or two Strategist (green) Perks in any perk slot
- Benefit: When you earn assists, earn bonus score from bullet eliminations for ten seconds.
Operative Specialty

- How to earn: Use one or two Recon (blue) Perks in any perk slot and use one or two Strategist (green) Perks in any perk slot
- Benefit: Earn Field Upgrade charge from stealthy eliminations. Suppressed weapons, melee eliminations, eliminations while out of line of sight, and other cases count as stealth eliminations.
Enforcer Specialty
- How to earn: Use three Enforcer (red) perks
- Benefit: After each elimination, gain a buff to movement speed and health regen speed for a short time.
Recon Specialty
- How to earn: Use three Recon (blue) perks
- Benefit: On respawn, see the direction of the closest enemy on the minimap. Edge of HUD pulses for enemies outside your view. Leave no death skulls.
Strategist Specialty
- How to earn: Use three Strategist (green) perks
- Benefit: Increased score for objectives and sabotage. Deploy Equipment faster. See enemy content through walls a short distance.
As you can see, the three new Perk Combat Specialties in Black Ops 7 are Scout, Tactician, and Operative, while Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist are all the same as they are in Black Ops 6. Now, you can utilize a slew of different perks and still gain benefits from Perk Combat Specialties in multiplayer.
It'll take some time to see which combinations become meta in Black Ops 7, but on paper, there's something for all playstyles available through the Perk Combat Specialties.
