Field Upgrades are essential to help you through a game of Black Ops 6 Zombies, so we’ve ranked all of them for you.

Field Upgrades are a bit different in Zombies compared to multiplayer. The function works the same, as they charge over time, but they aren't your average items. That's why we've got all of the Field Upgrades in Black Ops 6 Zombies, ranked by how well we feel they help the cause.

Ranking the Field Upgrades in Black Ops 6 Zombies

There are five total Field Upgrades in Black Ops 6 Zombies. Each one has its own unique ability along with Mastery Badges and a cool symbol next to it. You've got unlimited uses in a round of Zombies, but it does need charged over time, unless you get the Full Power pick-up which charges everyone's immediately.

So, without further ado, here they are, ranked in order of our opinion from least to most useful.

Frenzied Guard

Frenzied Guard just doesn't get used, because armor plates, armor upgrades, and Full Armor pick-ups are plentiful. This isn't a bad Field Upgrade in Black Ops 6 Zombies, but you definitely won't get much out of it.

Let's just say it isn't worth the wait for the charge. It repairs your armor to full, focuses all enemies on you, and the armor takes all damage during its use. You're just better off taking in a Field Upgrade that does a bit more to help the team.

Aether Shroud

Aether Shroud is a super popular Field Upgrade in Black Ops 6 Zombies. It just simply isn't that fun to use compared to others. You phase into the Dark Aether, are temporarily invisible, and can get some kills.

If you do it, but a teammate is getting massacred, you can't lead the Zombies away. You only get a bit of XP from the kills while using it, too. Again, none of them are bad, there are just some better than others.

Healing Aura

If you're a support-style player, Healing Aura is for you. You just pop it and it heals all nearby players immediately. This can come in handy when the entire team is backed into a corner for one final stand.

The "nearby" portion is what causes concern. Players often love to explore on their own in between rounds, and they make get stuck in a fight elsewhere. If you aren't constantly near your teammates, it isn't worthwhile.

Energy Mine

Energy Mine is the default Field Upgrade added to your Black Ops 6 Zombies loadout. And it is many players' go-to. Use it to place down a mine of pure energy that will detonate three times to deal electric damage when triggered.

It is definitely one of the best choices, as you can place it down on the run and clear some space behind you. It can also be used as a trap to help a teammate who is training some Zombies. The electric damage also stalls enemies out for a short time, so it is great to collect yourself or get some easy kills.

Dark Flare

Last up, and what we think is the best Field Upgrade in Black Ops 6 Zombies — Dark Flare. When you use it, you pull out a pistol that shoots a beam of purple energy. It deals shadow damage and extends through Zombies.

If you have a load of Zombies chasing you or blocking your path, this can be a lifesaver. It stops them in their tracks and basically turns them into dust like Thanos' snap. And not to mention it just looks plain cool when you pull it out.
