Here’s everything we know about the rumored Battle Royale mode in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 has become one of the most anticipated games of 2025, with a supposed release date for October. While there's no confirmation around this release date yet, we should know more after the worldwide reveal of the game happens on July 31. The reveal might also tell us some information about the rumored Battle Royale mode that could be coming to Battlefield 6.

The last time Dice and EA tried a Battle Royale in Battlefield, the results weren't great. However, according to leaks, the developers are making drastic changes to how the mode works, who can play it, and the core mechanics involved. Below, you can see everything we currently know about Battlefield 6's Battle Royale mode.

Everything we know about Battle Royale in Battlefield 6

For starters, EA has yet to confirm that the Battle Royale mode exists in Battlefield 6. So far, the marketing for the game has solely been around the Campaign and Multiplayer modes. We don't know if that will change during the worldwide reveal on July 31, or if the developers will dedicate another time to unveil the new mode.

What we do know is that Battle Royale is all but assured to arrive in the new Battlefield at some point during its life cycle. Leaks have been flying left and right about the mode, and this wouldn't happen if the mode wasn't being actively developed. The leaks we have received so far are fairly substantial, but don't paint too clear a picture of what fans can expect in the Battle Royale mode.

Let's begin with the most impactful leak about BR in Battlefield 6: it's rumored to be free-to-play. This would be a massive change from Battlefield's previous attempt at a BR with Firestorm. Firestorm required you to purchase Battlefield V to play it, similar to how Blackout worked with Black Ops 4 back in 2018.

It seems EA is learning from that mistake, just like Activision learned from its mistake by releasing Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale that Battlefield 6 will likely try to imitate. With the mode being free-to-play, any player can download it and hop in without having to purchase Battlefield 6.

In addition to being free-to-play, leaks also suggest that the BR mode will arrive sometime after the official launch of Battlefield 6. This makes sense, as EA likely wants maximum player attention on the main game when it releases. Then, after a chunk of time, the BR mode will be released and receive the same amount of attention. We don't have an idea of when the BR mode would launch following Battlefield 6's release, however.

Finally, we have a leaked view of the Battlefield 6 BR map. Keep in mind that this leak is the most likely to turn out to be untrue, but the map itself is interesting nonetheless. The leak comes from @Temporyal on Twitter/X.

The map certainly looks smaller than players had originally imagined, as there are only nine major points of interest on the map. It looks quite smaller than a main Warzone map at first glance, but that could easily change based on how the actual map is scaled.

We'll have to wait and see whether or not the BR map leak or the other leaks come to fruition. Hopefully, we'll at least see confirmation of the mode in Battlefield 6 at the worldwide reveal on July 31.
