Potentially, we can get so many characters from League of Legends! The 2XKO developers plan to expand the lineup of playable champions.

As a tag-team fighting game, 2XKO should offer a vast choice of champions in the roster. It's a general opinion in the community, as players need a variety of archetypes and movesets to form their perfect teams for 2v2 matches.

We highlight the current 2XKO champions in this article — and keep in mind upcoming additions to the roster.

League of Legends champions and Arcane characters

Every champion in the 2XKO roster comes from League of Legends (LoL). They play different roles in the original MOBA game. The developers generally keep the characters' vibes and identities during this transition to the fighting games environment.

A few characters in 2XKO are well-known for their presence in the popular anime series Arcane. They are generally the best picks for beginners, as Riot made most of them accessible and fun to play: Caitlyn excluded.

Rosters of other tag-team fighting games

The size of the 2XKO roster causes a big discussion in the fighting games community. 12 characters at launch? Other tag-team fighters offer much more.

  • BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle: 20 in the base game, 53 with DLC characters.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3: 36 in the base game plus 2 DLC, 50 in the Ultimate version.
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ: 24 in the base game, 45 with all DLCs.

An important thing here is that Riot announced long-term support for 2XKO, which includes the addition of new champions.

In one of the developer videos, they highlighted the notorious process of weaving new characters into the existing balance. The company has a list of future 2XKO champions, so the roster will become bigger over time.
