Format
CS2 Major Format Overview (2025)
The 2025 CS2 Major is structured across three competitive stages followed by the Playoffs.
Each stage uses the 16-Team Swiss System Format, with teams advancing or being eliminated based on match results.
Stage 1 Format — November 24–27, 2025
The opening stage features 16 teams competing in a Swiss System. Teams play opponents with the same win/loss record until advancing or being eliminated.
Match Rules
- Elimination & Advancement Matches: Best-of-3 (Bo3)
- All Other Matches: Best-of-1 (Bo1)
Progression
- Top 8 Teams: Advance to Stage 2
- Bottom 8 Teams: Are eliminated from the Major
Stage 2 Format — November 29 – December 2, 2025
Stage 2 repeats the same competitive structure with a new group of 16 teams.
Match Rules
- Elimination & Advancement Matches: Best-of-3 (Bo3)
- All Other Matches: Best-of-1 (Bo1)

- Top 8 Teams: Advance to Stage 3
- Bottom 8 Teams: Are eliminated
Stage 3 Format — December 4–7, 202
The final Swiss stage decides which teams make it into the Playoffs.

The Playoffs feature the top 8 teams from Stage 3 in a high-stakes knockout bracket.
Structure
- Single-Elimination Bracket
- All Matches (except the Grand Final): Best-of-3 (Bo3)
- Grand Final: Best-of-5 (Bo5)
This determines the CS2 Major Champion.
