Doja Cat appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show to officially announce her Fortnite collaboration and showcase her in-game skin!
Amid the chaos in the lead-up to Fortnitemares 2025, numerous collaborations have emerged, including those with Ghostface, Terrifier, and KPop Demon Hunters. One that somewhat flew under the radar is a Doja Cat partnership teased on the rap artist’s Instagram live stream, which would mark her debut in Fortnite as a skin.
In an unexpected move, Doja Cat appeared on the Oct. 2 edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where viewers got their first look at her ‘Mother of Thorns’ Outfit. Here’s everything we learned from Doja Cat’s spot on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
Who is the Mother of Thorns? Doja Cat’s Fortnite collab explained
Doja Cat is the Mother of Thorns, as confirmed during the interview. She stated, “Fortnite made me a boss for their big Halloween event, Fortnitemares, so come try me.” Jimmy Fallon then presented a real-life throne fit only for the Mother of Thorns, which provided a perfect photo opportunity.
Although the backstory of Doja Cat’s Fortnite skin is unclear, she will play a significant role in Fortnitemares 2025. Like other bosses in previous seasons, we expect the Mother of Thorns to spawn at one location each match. She may or may not carry an event-specific item or two, but that’s just our theory.

Doja Cat also confirmed that the Mother of Thorns skin will be available starting on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. ET, when the Item Shop resets. The pricing and other cosmetics involved in the collaboration are currently unknown.
When does Fortnitemares 2025 begin?
Although also unconfirmed, it would stand to reason that Fortnitemares 2025 would also officially commence on Oct. 9. Epic Games plans to deploy the highly anticipated KPop Demon Hunters collaboration in the Oct. 2 update, which could remain in place throughout the event.

Fortnite leaker HYPEX has since reported that Oct. 9 is the official start date, but we’ll have to wait until Epic Games verifies this report in the coming days. Beyond the ones already mentioned, this year’s Fortnitemares lineup includes Scooby Doo, Poppy Playtime, The Black Phone, and much more.
