Blizzard has announced that the 2021 Hearthstone World Championship will take place on December 18 & 19. Eight players coming from the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and China will battle to be eternalized in the Hall of Champions. There are also $500,000 on the line to spice things up a bit!

Hearthstone’s World Championship already has 4 qualified players, one for each region. We will be able to know three more players on October 10th, when Hearthstone Grandmasters Season 2 ends, crowning the regional champions that will attend the ultimate Hearthstone tournament. The remaining player will come from the China Gold Series in early November.

  • Facundo “Nalguidan” Nahuel Pruzzo (Argentina)  – Grandmasters 2021 Season 1, Americas.
  • Wataru “Posesi” Ishibashi (Japan) – Grandmasters 2021 Season 1, Asia-Pacific.
  • David “Frenetic” Neila Quiñones (Spain) – Grandmasters 2021 Season 1, Europe.

There were speculations about if the World Championship would be a LAN event. However, Eric Elliot Blizzard Esports Publisher, confirmed on Twitter that, despite there were talks, the event will be an online competition like in 2020. Hopefully next year, we can see the return of some live Hearthstone tournaments before the 2022 Hearthstone World Championship.

With 3 World championship spots on the line, you can’t miss the action and cheer for your favorite players to make it to Playoffs. The final stage will take place on August 8, where the top 8 players from each region will clash with only one goal, making it to the Hearthstone World Championship.

Is this all Hearthstone Esports has to offer until the World Championship?

Definitely NO! With two $250.000 Masters Tour events remaining for 2021, there will be plenty of action to enjoy Blizzard’s CCG tournaments. These two online events will see the top 400 players trying to make their way into the 2022 Grandmasters League.
