Liquid coach, adreN might miss ESL Pro League 15 as per reports

Just like PGL Stockholm Major, the General Manger, jokasteve will take over if adreN is unable to attend.

Eric "adreN" Hoag will miss the Group stage of the ESL Pro League Season 15 due to a delay in travel owing to personal matters. This would mean the team will use their General Manager, Steve "jokasteve" Perino who will stand-in as the team’s coach.

Team Liquid is in Group C of the ESL Pro League Season 15 along with Godsent, BIG, Movistar Riders. The group also features the former Gambit players, now playing under the tag ‘Players’. According to a report by Dust2.us, Team adreN might miss the first few matches of the ESL Pro League.

This is not the first time that jokasteve has had to stand-in for adreN. The GM helped out the team during the PGL Stockholm Major as adreN had to take a leave due to the first of his child. Team Liquid finished the Major in the 12-14th place, losing to Entropiq, FURIA and FaZe Clan.

AdreN’s potential absence from the group stage would be a big blow to Team Liquid. However, the team should still be able to make it to the playoffs, considering their opponents in the Group stage. Group C features 6 teams, including Players, Godsent, Team Liquid, BIG, Movistar Riders and Party Astronauts.

There has been no official announcement from Team Liquid yet. However, if adreN’s travel is delayed, then the Team Liquid CS: GO roster would be as follows:

  • Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
  • Keith "NAF" Markovic
  • Joshua "oSee" Ohm
  • Richard "shox" Papillon
  • Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella
  • Steve "jokasteve" Perino (coach).

Earlier this year, Team Liquid famously signed nitr0 to the CS: GO team as he came out of retirement after playing Valorant for 100Thieves. So far the team’s results have not been impressive, with a 10-12th place finish at IEM Katowice. However, the roster is still relatively new and has immense potential to challenge the best players in the world.

Liquid’s first EPL 15 match is on March 23, against BIG.

ESL Pro League Season 15: The battle of the best

The ESL Pro League Season 15 features 24 teams competing at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Germany. Each week features one group, consisting of six teams. The teams play in a round-robin BO3 format, and the top three teams make it to the playoffs.

With a $823,000 prize pool and the winner receiving a direct invite to the BLAST Premier World Finals 2022, the competition is intense in this tournament. Group A concluded on March 13 with NiP, Entropiq and Fnatic qualifying to the playoffs, NiP went 4-1, similar to Entropiq, but with a much better round-difference.
