The Razer Invitational is taking a stop in the Middle East as its second region on the 2021 calendar with a $50,000 prize pool.

The coveted Razer Invitational is a place for everyone to showcase the spirit and passion of the regional esports communities and athletes. In 2020, we got to see what the SEA, LATAM, and EU regions had to offer. Since the beginning of 2021, we saw Razer expand its Razer Invitational regional roster to include North America, and most recently, the Middle East.

The four titles selected for the Razer Invitational – Middle East are League of Legends, VALORANT, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and PUBG Mobile. These four titles are incredibly popular in the MENA region, having strong rosters competing regionally and internationally in each.

We have seen the recent accomplishment of Egypt’s Anubis Gaming in VALORANT esports, winning the collegiate competition Red Bull Campus Clutch. Not only that, we have previously seen the likes of YaLLa Esports reach the world stage with their PUBGM roster, finishing 10th in the Star Challenge World Cup 2019 and 15th in the World League 2020 Season 0: West.

League of Legends receives a lot of regional support in the region through Riot Games' MENA office in Dubai. MENA's League of Legends players get to enjoy the IAC tournament action, and develop along the way with the competition getting tougher season after season. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and its Warzone multiplayer mode continue to be one of the most popular and beloved franchises in the region, as it always has been.

“The Razer Invitational series is an inclusive space that gives all gamers the opportunity to take part in a large-scale online tournament and to experience the thrill of competitive play. Bringing the Razer Invitational series to the Middle East is a big step in cultivating the next generation of esports talent from the region. Featuring multiple titles allows more players, at every skill level, to compete and have their shot at glory,” said Yann Salsedo, Head of Esports for Razer EMEA.

This is only the second region in the Razer Invitational Season 2021 calendar with more announcements to come in the near future. Stay tuned to Esports.gg for the latest news and updates on everything in the world of esports.
